"Better go down and check it out directly. It's up to you if you want to go down there, but it will most likely be dangerous."

Activate my eyes and jump into hole. Slow my fall using my armor, as before.
Once down there, have a look around for anything significant.

Cast a spell so that the stone I land on will be soft enough to not hurt me as I fall, returning to normal stone after the jump

Rather than waste mana and potentially fail and hurt yourself, we'll have Zavi carry Eve down.  The both of you reach the bottom ok and Zavi checks around with her magically enhanced vision. This chamber is large, clearly natural, and once had a river running through it judging by the old riverbed carved into the ground. However, its dry now and there are clearly unnatural tunnels bored into the walls of this cavern so as to give it a half dozen new entrances and exits. You can see what looks like more tunnels further up though only just barely; they've collapsed when the sink hole formed.

Hmm Clearly these escaped critters were the digging sort and they destabilized the area here with their burrowing.  Giant ants maybe? Worms? Moles? Probably nothing particularly out of sorts.  The largest burrow tunnel heads northeast.

1. Nay. In fact it seems to lose that ability as soon as the leaf is plucked.
Ohoho. And does it revert to a regular leaf or is it still made of precious materials, or what?

Quote
2. It does. [10+2] You feel like you are successful in manipulating their forms, but the form doesn't change? At least not visibly. Maybe their offspring will be different? Or maybe it takes a while to kick in?

Give it a while to see if the changes went through. Try again with a more noticeable change or a change that should be apparent quicker due to faster turnover.

4. [10v2] You ride into town atop your dino, followed by a small  force of giant tigers and somethings that look like gorillas but with 4 arm and boney plates. You tell them the Domain has returned and that you will give them a chance to leave. They seem...less than pleased about you riding in here, telling them they basically have to leave or they'll get eaten.

Well, we understand that it's a rather unpleasant situation, but we just work here I mean c'mon.

Tell them we can give them some time to gather their stuff so they don't have to leave empty-handed. For those that refuse to leave, explain that we can maaaybe try to keep the town itself off-limits for the jungle predators but we can't guarantee it, and they wouldn't be able to leave the town perimeter.

1. Still seems to be made of whatever its made of. You're not entirely sure its gold since it seems to bend like an organic leaf, but it looks like it.
2. Giving it a while.
3.[4+2v3] You explain (by which I mean lie) that this isn't your fault. You're just a messenger and you can't do anything about this; you're just trying to help as best you can considering the circumstances. The people obviously still don't like it, but they seem to shift their anger from you to...well the vague foe of the jungle and fate itself you suppose. They start gathering things and getting ready to leave.

Not flying is not an option.  Flying is awesome.

Swap my d4 Ice out for the d8 Vacuum.

Cast a d8 Permanent Strengthen Force Reverse-Vacuum spell on my wings to dramatically increase their ability to move air.  That should help.

Spend my remaining mana on further biomods, aiming to optimize as much as I can manage.  Reduce my excess muscle mass some for a larger wingspan.  Try to tighten things up physically, so I look like some kind of success story from a magical chimeric experiment instead of a failed one, such as a bit larger head, and a bit less ridiculous overall.  I'm willing to drop strength to d12+4.

For invisible changes, work on bones, tendons, ligaments, etcetera.  If I'm satisfied with work there (end to d12), stop for now.

Cast a Strengthen Expand spell to enlarge my armour with the remaining 10 mana, so I can wear it.

Spoiler: Saeko (click to show/hide)
-6 mana. You already got the mutation from me.

[3+4v8] Just shy. You use up your remaining mana shifting things around but end up looking, and feeling, not much different.

Clothing spell is fine though.

Give them some time to pack, then guide them out of the jungle. Be on the lookout for shenanigans though, just in case any of them get it into their heads to engage in monkey business.

Once we've safely escorted them out of the jungle, look through the city and see if anything worthwhile remains.

Promising! Once back from Plumbago, try to determine if there are other lingering spells/effects on the gold leaf or if it seems like it'd be safe to try and convert it to thaum. (make sure I drop poofable gear whenever working with these just in case)

Maybe try touching a small bit of leaf with the lotus orb to see if there are still enchantments on it in case I'm unsure (after doublechecking it lost its poofing ability).

If it seems like it should be safe and won't trigger some sort of effect like converting the original stuff seemed like it would (you mentioned "Maybe, but this place is essentially a giant enchanted...thing created by a literal divine entity. Attempting to melt it down might have unforeseen consequences." in the past), then try converting a little bit into thaum.

Go fly back to the mansion, and fill up on mana from Ekrov.  I believe he's been converting several hundred.  (checking last charsheet, 303)

Spend a lot of that fixing things so that I don't look like a huge slab of meat.  There are a few further things to do past that.

Use a d8 Strengthen Vacuum spell on myself in order to be protected from the detrimental effects of vacuum exposure.  Still need to breathe air, but skin exposure is fine.

Adam does what might be the equivalent of shrug. Hard to say of course, its more of a writhe.  The man says its likely still out there, as far as he knows. He hasn't been back out to see it, but he did tell the locals around here so they've avoided it.

Head Northeast, through the tunnel
You both head off down the largest tunnel. As you move you hear something you didn't expect: Drum beats in a rapid rhythm. As you get closer, you hear voices, voices that you believe are human. Further still, you can see the flicker of fire. You both double check the tunnel  you're walking through: it definitely isn't human in construction, there are still massive grooves visible in the dirt and stone where something of exceeding strength gouged its way through.  The voices are raising and lowering in a constant chant in time with the drums. You can make out words, but not the language they're in.

[4+5v7]

Zavi suddenly remembers something. A story she'd heard a long time ago.  About a stillborn god called the Clot in Stone.  One of the sons of the God of Earth; they say it was responsible for carving all the tunnels and caves in the planet, grinding its way around forever. It had followers who supposedly lived their entire lives underground, spoke their own language, and practiced a form of primal magic different from the arts taught by Telcal.  Zavi assumed they had died out long ago when the age of magic ended, as they hadn't really been seen in decades.  Maybe they are still around?

There's a pretty big desert between them and civilization and they're not exactly trained soldiers. If one big scorpion or something appears, they might all bite it. Well, figuratively. I fear the reality will be the opposite.

2. You can convert them to thaum. They convert at a pretty good rate. Higher than normal gold.  There are no lingering enchantments it seems, but touching with the orb actually causes the leaf to blacken and crumble to ash. For thaum conversion, assume each leaf is worth about 100 gold.

3.Cockotiel. You wanted to turn its white feathers red. Over the course of about a month, it will lose existing feathers and new red ones do indeed grow.

Sure, escort them across the desert. Use the sunbroer staff to ward of nasty animals and, erm, uppity veggies I guess, but as before keep the staff in its cover and wave my arms or whatever to make it seem like I’m doing regular magic spells. Make sure we have enough supplies for the trek before we leave.
EDIT: once we arrive, use the sunbroer staff to provide them with food&shelter like we discussed on discord.

If that works out, return and look through Plumbago and see if anything worthwhile/interesting remains.

Collect some double jungle samples, enough to fill about a big sack. Try to go for things like gem coconuts, gilded toadstools, maybe some of the crystal bead stream (idea is to let the leaf cover intact as much as possible to act as a shield should we need to retreat into double jungle at some point). Make sure to check that these samples also lose poofing ability, and do tests stripped of poofable gear like before.

That’s neat! Does the cockatiel like his/her new plumage? Ask if they’d like to stick with us for a while, if yes take small birbfriend with us.
Oh, and I asked some internet friends to name our dinofriend, and after some… typical internet name suggestions they settled on ‘Rexington T.'

Finally, if possible to start on that this turn, begin on our trek back to snek goddess. Use whatever route goes through the most forest/nature, I guess green then purple would be best for that (according to the paths you drew here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=163892.msg8149477#msg8149477).

173 mana to go.

Okay, next up is to get set for into space.

Go make a spacesuit from the shunken fighter core.  Ekrov has Human, and Saeko has Bird and Feline, which should let us change it's shape to something that'll fit Saeko's body.

Then, add some features.  Use a reverse-vacuum thaumic word to make an air tank that the spirit can generate air into.  Also, add several Force Wall combinations at various points on the suit, so the spirit can make force shields.  Disassemble a couple of the force wall generators for the raw materials for this.

Lastly, research on what stuff we need to make an altar in the sky to the sky goddess.  What kind of sacrifice is needed, what rituals, etcetera.  Buy anything we need for this.

They both continue on, Zavi with her hands raised in what she hopes is a non-threatening gesture.  The scene that greets them as they grow closer is an odd one. The party they come across is maybe 40 strong or so, much larger than they would have guessed, and quite elaborate. It seems split into three main groups; at the front is a giant mole and what look to be its handlers, which are digging the tunnel. Behind it, a group of maybe 10 or so musicians carrying drums and other instruments are playing a steady beat in time to the Mole's digging. And finally, in the back, maybe 15 or 20 warriors surrounding what looks like a giant bat being ridden by a person wearing colorful robes and a bone mask. When the two wizards are finally noticed the group immediately turns and changes formation. The mole and its handlers halt and wait in place but the warriors fan out and cover the tunnel while the musicians take up places behind the bat rider, their playing shifting into something more tense.  The bat rider turns their mount to face the intruders but doesn't move otherwise.

You take them to Yttria, since that town is basically nothing but a single surviving inn in the middle of the desert, surrounded by dried up ruins. A good place to resettle. [59 mana]

You gather a sack of  magical foliage, sticking to the stuff that won't break up the canopy. It does seem to lose the poofing ability as well.

The cockatiel likes berries and nuts! Feathers are for flying!  This is about as much as you can get out of her.  (At least it wasn't dino mcdinoface)

[1] As you head through the desert towards your destination you come across, oh speak of the devil, a giant scorpion!  It definitely notices you and charges in to give you a hug.  A murder hug.

Spoiler: Saeko (click to show/hide)
So are you going to make just the core into the entire suit or combine it with your current armor and just use the core to make it an active thaumic machine?  And is it JUST the core or is it the core plus a chunk of fighter? I forget.

So this is using thaumic machinery not enchanting? Because Thaumic machinery is the only thing the spirit can use. For the force walls we can assume you have the materials, but for the vacuum you'd need to inscribe jewels with the right word. Do you have the jewels you wanna use?

An altar to get in contact? Well...the traditional stuff is gold, glass, mercury, jewels, bells, chimes, sunlight, etc. Those things were the sort of stuff that would attract her.  As per the altar, anything can do. They often carved them from jade or stone of some kind.  It needs her name inscribed on it too.

"Hey there."

Take off my backpack and leave it behind me, also my knife an other weapons. Sit down crosslegged and set down my lantern on the floor in front of me, along with my glass pendant. Take off my helmet and hold it in my lower two hands. Make eye contact with the rider and hold out one of my upper hands to them.
