Yes yes, you all managed to gain the heart of a princess right before your nation was overthrown. Which caused her to be exiled from yet another country (or worse, she was allowed to stay). Poor princess...

I can't believe that she was such an idiot to fall into being a toy ornament of a concubine to some stuffed pig instead of accepting the freedom, power, and respect of her own territory, a small but skilled retinue of shield-maidens, and the key to untold magical prowess. She could have been something glorious and majestic that would bring pride to her new peoples, instead of a simpleton of a bird in a rusted cage...

You mean, she could have been cold and miserable, having chosen an isolated castle and a wand she cannot use over what makes her, you know, happy. Yeah, that's a real bad decision. She doesn't need to worry about war and politics anymore, she can simply enjoy riding through the countryside, playing with her pet tiger, and patronising the many fine artists of Moskurg. I'd rather be a happy bird in a gilded cage (with an open door) than a dead bird on the political battlefield.
Plus, I mean, have you seen the portrait that our master artist created for her?

Well, apparently if you roll 4 1's in a single turn, you get a spell that allows you to crush our forces in the Jungle. If we roll 2, we get nothing at all. Or if we roll a single 1, we got nothing at all, that happened in the earlier turns.

And the turn where we got several 1s wasn't the one where we crushed you in the jungle, we actually got decent rolls for that. But seriously we haven't really seen hide or hair of anything you guys have come up with the last couple of turns at all. (Unless those storms aren't accidental :P )

Honestly, the game was unbalanced from the start.

This was the starting situation.

Mountain : Advantage Arstotzka
Jungle : Advantage Moskurg due to Moskurg Wizard
Plains : Strong Advantage Moskurg despite Arstotzkan wizard
Sea : Even

We supposedly had a spell that strengthened our interception of your forces during routs, but we have never inflicted more losses upon you than you have inflicted upon us. You meanwhile had your mind reading spell dominate entire battles.

Similarly with the mist. We had a spell that conceals our forces, but your detect Ambush spell completely negated it.

Technically it wasn't that unbalanced at the start, nothing that we couldn't have changed anyway. It's more a combination of the wand and spell-book we took than anything else. Stick through it though, these games have plenty of reversals in fortune.

EDIT: The mist actually worked in the mountains, though we did design a counter to it, not that it helped much there by the time we got it out.

Actually, Detect Ambush doesn't work on magical concealment. We had to develop a new spell to negate that particular ambush strategy.

Also, I thought we were on the back foot. Everything we've done has seemed like a reaction to what you are doing, not proactive.

I think maybe that first revision credit helped us out, giving us the opportunity to fix two spells that were all but useless.

You have constantly killed of more force of us than we have of you. You're winning at sea, winning in the plains, winning in the jungle, and stalling in the mountains.

And yet you think you're on the back foot.

We've held on by luck alone in both Jungle and Plains, while taking disproportionate losses all the while. Yes, we won slowly in the mountains, but that's all we ever did.

Also, something annoying I found is that if we roll a 1, we get a design we can't even deploy. You get designs that are harmfull to your own forces, but can be deployed.
