So does that mean Sam will be spotted if she doesn't move?

She's normally on foot and is in a forest so no.

If someone that was usually mounted - so rider trainees - was in that position I'd guess so, but Sam's normally on foot.

I think either Roux or Bertholt need to move back (aka up, aka north), otherwise Liam will 100% get his concealment broken on the third turn. Let me know if there's an alternative.

Can Roux move to 5-11? Unless we're planning on attacking the head end of the train (in which case Martyn and Sam may get trapped in the front), I think Roux's spot is the best place for Liam to move on the second turn, since it allows him to get into the forests at 6-10 on the third turn, avoid getting his concealment broken, and still allow both him and Roux to get their concealment attacks in on the tail of the train.

Also, flavor probably doesn't matter that much, but unless I'm mistaken, they were riding at night, and have spent between daybreak and noonish camping here.

If you wanna farm exp, we could just have sam perform us on her turn.

Somehow loud drumming doesn't break concealment. =V

More seriously:

I'd like the snag placed on one of [5, 7], [6, 7], [7, 7], [8, 7], or [10, 6].

We want (or I want, at least) to wait to hit the very end of the caravan to maximize our chances of not getting surrounded or overwhelmed.  Remember, they can all move faster than us (particularly with our cavs dismounted), so we have no chance of outrunning them.  We don't know how the enemy will react once they're attacked (they may keep moving, or they may swarm us), but it's better to risk some getting away than risk dying.

Otherwise, I think Gaterhyme covered the movement suggestions I would've made.  The only other things I could think to maybe suggest is for Esther to move to [9, 16], Farra to move to [9, 14], and Bertholt to take [5, 14] on the second turn so that the cavaliers can move back into position.  The Bertholt one's the only one that's actually necessary, though.

Edit: Sam should also move to [7, 17].

Yeah, I noticed the performance thing as well  :P

However,  so as to not risk the GM's wrath, I will flavor Sam's performances in a somewhat more subtle manner.

"Are those drums?"

"Nah. They sound like birds to me."

"But"

"Just. Birds."

I'd kinda like to know our overall plan before placing the snag, just so we know the best place to put it for what it needs to do.

Alright, I'm thinking 5,7. Its in the right area and hard for the carts to get around without breaking through. Any comments?

Probably the best choke point, and probably where we should try to sneak towards before we make our opening attack. BMM indicated in IRC that the Wagons can escape from either the top or bottom edge, so we shouldn't have to worry about the sides.

Half the team is already holding :-/. We didn't exactly have a lot of time to maneuver before that.

The edit button is a communist myth. We were always at war with Eastasia.

The general rule of thumb is that as long as some sort of action hasn't been run (attacking, healing, whathaveyou), posts can be edited. Once something has happened however, everything before that action takes place is locked in.

So what I'm saying is, go ahead and edit :V

I'll edit, I just need to make sure Esther is on board. Also, is it custom for coordinates to be y, x in FEF? For the suggestion for me it was obvious that 9, 14 as x, y was impossible, but it took me a minute for the snag to make sense.

No, I think coordinates in FEF are x,y just like in any other graph system.
