You are Marquis Artfried Bangbonger, Governor of the newest colony of the
Gulden Empire in the Western Continent, the name of the small settlement:
Neue Flopstaadt! What a glorious name, don't you agree?
The lush palm forests and the green seas are alien to you, a man grown up in the snow-covered mountains and pine forests of the northern Guldena.
But you will prevail and lead your family, colony, people and nation to glory!
Or die trying, but let's not think about it.
For the past year, the colonists toiled, clearing the forest and setting up crude homes for themselves, the laborers, and the final touch was a wooden two-story fort where the soldiers and you will live, until something more spacious can be afforded.
Ah, here comes your Vice-Governor with the Ledger of Colonial Status!
Morale: 4
Population: 4
Economy: 4
Army/Navy: 6/Tiny
Three whole Gulden arquebusier troops live amongst your settlers, and three small frigates are docked in the calm coast. Whoever shows up to wrestle this colony from your hands will have a hard time doing that.
Week 1, 1555 CYA
The colony has not yet established its industry.

Those who cleared the forest in the previous year reported that the woods have a lot in ways of good timber and exotic fruit.
They've also found wild sugarcane growing in the north, which could be harvested and farmed by the colonists.
1
They've investigated the hilly lands in the west, but found nothing interesting during their trip there.

Many tasty fish are found in local waters! Tuna, mackerel, anchovies and even edible marblefish and the rare spongecuddlers. Even the clams and oysters are abundant in the waters!
You meet up with the various laborers and heads of the families, and declare that...
A) A forestry will be set up first, sending the logs and fruit and cut timber to the Empire, plus it will allow for good maintenace of the guard ships.
B) Farm land will be prepared, for cultivation of fruits and maybe even sugarcane, as sugar and rum are always in demand in the Empire.
C) Fishing industry will take priority, to provide food for the colony and with some luck, maybe even a pearl jewellery for the noblewomen of the Empire.
D) A search party will be assembled and sent west and south, to seek some other wealth; mayhaps there are ores to be mined, spices to be harvested, or natives to meet?
