You will design 5 units.

I will rate them on a scale from dumbass to jackass(© roseheart 2017). The higher the rating, the longer the structure that builds them we'll take to build.

The terrain will be a grid this size(32x32):

-Units are 1x1, no exceptions
-Water will take a turn to cross normally
-Cliffs can't be passed normally
-Trees block ranged attacks, normally
-Capturing a resource will lower the time all your buildings take by 1, min 1.

This game uses spoilers, do not view one not labled for you, players.

Really anything goes. I dare you to minmax, troll, what ever, just don't be boring, tedious(for me), or I will wave my magic hand of change.

- Terrain -
Cliff: Can't move past in either direction normally.
Forest: Safe from range attacks normally.
Water: Takes a turn to cross normally.

- Unit Traits -
HP: Total damage needed to kill the unit in a turn. Resets next turn.
Move: Movement, each point can be used to move cardinally or diagonally. Building(and similar) corners must be moved around, not diagonally.
Armor: Nulls damage. Can be upgraded with research.
Damage: HP removed to target. Only hit nearby targets normally. Can be upgraded with research.
Structure Attack: 10 - move. Structures have 5HP per turn, if an attacking unit is destroyed the damage it did to its structure is known for the turn.

- Other -
Flying: Ignore cliffs and water, but can't attack forest units normally.

Factory: Increases food output and increases max fudge income. Buildable on a spot that is atleast partially visible by a unit. 1 unit can be built per factory, adjacent to it. Has armor equal to the number of its'owners'units next to it.
Fudge Pool: gives fudge when captured.
Workers: Create a path from a factory to nearest claimed fudge pool. If an enemy steps on path, income is stopped until they are off.
Base: Upgrade to recruit higher tier units. Can make one of a unit- one tier above your base. Game Over if destroyed. Armor equal to your number of factories.

4 damage, and when entering combat, has 50% chance of changing name of both enemy and any adjacent ally of theirs into "werebear".  Only name is changed, not stats or skills.

Choose a tile within 5 spaces of Beastmaster. All units whose name begins with were- become unit of  that name, under control of player that controls this BeastMaster when this skill is used. Alternatively, this unit may instead turn an enemy unit within 2 tiles of it into a random Were-creature, stats and skills included.

A ritual is... a ritual. A ritual is performed by placing up to 8 Canters of the appropriate level for the selected ritual adjacent(horizontally, vertically, diagonally) to a square, surrounding it to some degree. After some amount of time has passed, the ritual will be complete, and the ritual's effect will take place.

A ritual having a Canter performing it die won't stop the ritual unless there are no more Canters adjacent to it, but it will slow down, because each Canter working on a ritual provides part of its speed.

A Sacrifice must be adjacent to at least one of the Canters performing the ritual in order to be sacrificed.

4 Research points are spent to unlock a random level 1 ritual, 8 for a level 2, and 16 for a level 3. Additional points may be spent to improve the quality of the unlocked ritual.

An unlocked ritual is randomly generated in some manner by the GM, roseheart. I recommend use of Fniff's Aspects List.

Okay. Here's a better way to generate random rituals:

1. Roll 1d3, choosing the type of ritual.

1: Summoning Ritual. A summoning ritual summons a unit of some kind to act as a new minion.
2: Shaping Ritual. A shaping ritual manipulates the terrain in some manner, from making a forest to generating a zone of eldritch radiation.
3: Effect Ritual. An effect ritual effects units directly in some manner, to giving them weapons to melting them.

2. Roll 1d10 on the simplified aspects list:

1: Fire
2: Water
3: Earth
4: Air
5: Arcane
6: Light
7: Dark
8: Eldritch
9: Weapon
10: GM's choice. First thing that comes to your mind.

3. Interpret.
Guidelines:
Incorporate the rolled thing into the ritual type. For example, if you roll Fire for a Summoning ritual, the ritual would summon something that has to do with fire. A Shaping ritual would set the terrain ablaze in some manner, and an Effect ritual would likely end up damaging enemy units by burning them in some manner. Secondly, adjust for tier: a higher tier ritual is more potent than a lower tier. A Fire Summoning ritual at tier one might summon a tiny fire elemental, at tier two, a much larger fire elemental, at tier three, a fire demon lord. Note that though tier two rituals are about twice as powerful as tier one rituals, tier three rituals are four times as powerful as tier two rituals(see the unit cost for Zancanters as opposed to Excanters for reason).

Since I know OceanSoul's build, I'm fine taking round 2 after OceanSoul and crazyabe have at it.

Edit: Do you have any plans for winners of previous rounds to continue into further rounds with the same build? Asking because I'd like to see what crazyabe's got planned while he fights OceanSoul.
