Alarm

"Uh oh. Uh oh. Um... it seems she's infected. The nanites also seem to be trying to adapt to elude our scanning capabilities."

".....AARGH GET THEM OUT GET THEM OUT!"

Avi grabs hold of anything in the volume of her body that is not her (and not air), and heats it till it melts or until it would cause her harm to continue heating.

You find it hard to tell what's "you" or not. You find yourself randomly heating chunks of your body every several moments. In particular you heat your guts several times, bringing yourself intense pain and making yourself nauseous.

Resalth steps forward and waves his hands over you, and a number of symbols appear in the air around you and phase through you. "How are you feeling? Have you injured yourself?"

"I need to work on my resolution.  Other than that, uh...might need a minute really...heurgh..."

Avi finds a convenient rock to throw up behind, keeping a filter over herself if possible.

"If you're doing that, I should be able to watch it and replicate it, if I have enough energy...Or maybe craft an engine."

Koi lands on his feet. "Am reviewing logs." Possible infection delay: Heat internal materials to unsafe levels near infected sites. Nano based Replicators are demonstrably poor at self cooling. Insufficient mass to offload heat.

Possible, though heat required to damage nanites is currently unknown. All possibilities for countering threat are worth consideration.

"Well, as soon as No sterilizes the local area, and we take a rest to replenish respective abilities, let's get a move on. If weapons like these have been deployed and the fight is still ongoing, then the fighters still standing are probably dangerous indeed."

"General reminder. After this we really should park on an asteroid or material rich moon. It would solve many problems before they start. Such as this one."

Koi snags one of the guns and investigates it. Especially the bit that makes the energy balls.

"Yeah, I'm not taking any more of this. Wide area anti nanobot spell, ho!"

No's eyes glow, and he casts a glare over the whole area, aiming to curse all nanobots within it with non functionality.

"Jeeze, fine. I'll take you to an Elemental Plane of Earth. You can have a god damn fudgie-pop made of cobalt."

The gun's body seems to be an economic steel, with strengthening elements like titanium, tungsten and nickel, but also an unusually high trace of osmium. The ball-emitter in the lower prong has powerful electromagnetic components that could be expected from non-laser energy weapons. Silver, palladium, platinum, and other heavy elements used in high-end EM equipment. You're not sure how this would generate the balls, but then again there are those orange ampoules that seem to slot into the lower prong.

Under the computerized sight is a display in unknown symbols, but something tells you it means "30/30"

"Yeah, I'm not taking any more of this. Wide area anti nanobot spell, ho!"

No's eyes glow, and he casts a glare over the whole area, aiming to curse all nanobots within it with non functionality.

Faint swirls of red sweep through the air, forming more visible clouds back over towards the bodies. "I'm not detecting any more nano activity." Immense relief.

"I dunno, from the fireworks I'd guess the main event is gravity-propelled VM rounds via dark energy manipulation. Easier to use magnets for throwing bullets, but someone must have a big surplus of Dark-tap to waste dark energy on infantry weapons. Wonder what the big gun on the crab thing shoots..." He looks over towards the site of the skirmish. "Last folks I met who went down the Dark-tap path of tech development were a lot more fun. However, I'd like to note that we're also dealing with something's that got both energy weapons that can kill cyborgs and big tough synth tanks alike with minimal structural damage, AND apparently high-end nanites."

"....what?" Jaden seems to have woken up.

"Oh good, still with us."

"...I wanna go home..."

"We are fundamentally dealing with infantry scale weaponry with a risky to use antiarmor directed energy attack. In the big scheme of things, it is likely that no one faction currently holds orbital superiority and if they do, they lack the scanning and imaging capability to do anything useful with it. None of the things you listed would be significant issues if we Had The Materials. Drones solve many problems."
