That said, I trust any random schmuck about as far as I can throw them, and as a small, generally delicate man, that's about none at all. I've seen how they drive, how they disregard the pandemic, how they hate. As a country borne of violence and with that violence written into its DNA, I want absolutely nothing to do with enabling that violence. Fuck your guns, you're gonna get people killed, and if that idea makes you smug or giddy or indignant, well, fuck you too. You're not out to do The Right Thing.

What we need is for civilian officers armed with tracer rounds, who can direct other kinds of civilians to respond to the threats with targeted fire. To ensure that accuracy is maintained, the civilians should meet with their civilian officer regularly to conduct fire drills. This sounds very time-consuming though, so they should be paid a regular salary for their regular meetings by the government. As they would be conducting regular meetings with potentially dangerous fire drills, they would have to be well-regulated of course. Some kind of well-regulated structure with officers and training...

Arson attacks however seem to be on the rise.

My point is that people who want to kill people are going to kill people. Outlawing guns isn't going to fix that problem.

In New York, the War on Gun Culture has begun.  New laws make it a Felony to carry a firearm in a group of more than 15 people.
This means gun shows, firearms exhibitions, and war reenactments are done.

It also means if 15 people don't like someone carrying a gun, they can just swarm and citizen arrest them, knowing they've just created a Felon who is now barred from carrying a gun.
