70 protestors were arrested at today's hearing. It's being reported that the pro-choice camp intends to continue at this pace for the rest of the hearing.

As well they should. “Constitutional privilege” is being cited as a reason for not providing documents on his last work, and something close to 50,000 pages of documents were released last night, but the panel chair refused to delay the hearing.

It’s a farce.

Yeah, I caught part of that on the radio.  Only like ~10% of his record was admitted, and almost all of that was dumped 24 hours before the hearing, despite the campaign taking like a month to review it?

One of the congresswomen did a better job saying it, of course.  It is indeed a farce.

Re Gentlefish's earlier mention on court packing: While you were mentioning it in a non-serious way, it has been mentioned as a solution to the dirty fighting that the Republicans have been doing, so, I wouldn't be real surprised if the Democrats at some point decided to pack the SCOTUS. Even though it's normally something seen in Banana Republics and illiberal democracies, not normal functioning democracies.
