Probably just naively pushing his libertarian agenda for more talks with Russia when this isn't the time to be rewarding Putin with visits from US Congresspeople.

Wanting better relations with Russia is all noble and good, but it does nothing when Russia isn't acting like they want to be a friend.

There's been some drama in the Manafort case: the judge has been described as the "Caeser in his Rome", and has sparred with prosecutors. Today, he conceded fault regarding chastisement of the prosecution by the judge regarding some expert witness. Things are still interesting there, it seems.

Other big news today was Pence stumping at the Pentagon to push Trump's idea of "Space Force", the new sixth branch of the US Armed Forces. They're hoping Congress will authorize it (the rest of us are hoping they won't) but even if they don't, Trump has instructed the DoD to examine all the ways it can begin creating a Space Force in all but name.

The memes have been coming in fast and heavy, ranging from the amusing (comparisons to Spaceballs, Star Wars, Star Trek and Halo) to the angry (citing the lack of funding for the Flint water crisis or Puerto Rico hurricane recovery or California firefighting, compared with the estimated $8 billion to create such a branch) to the plain surreal.

The good thing is, this is the sort of gargantuan undertaking that will take at least 5-10 years to implement, more than enough time for Trump to be voted out or in prison. Although he claims it'll be operational by 2020.

On the other hand, if it means all the MAGAts boarding rockets and being blasted into space (led by Admiral Snackbar), there may be some merit to this plan. May even be worth $8 billion.
