It's official, President Biden is now a Fascist.
(Since the Internet does not convey sarcasm, and I like not being banned, this is absolutely sarcasm.)

I question the efficacy of this as it doesn't target US citizens (probably because it would be unconstitutional to do so by executive order). These are, as the article mentions are a decent chunk of the settler movement (15%) which also exercise large influence within and are a central pillar in their ideology, mainly in the form of white well-off Karens who felt their boring suburban life might be spruced up with some apartheid and messianism. Also one must question whether Israeli courts will consistently punish and write a record for each settler who attacks Palestinians.

60.9% to 37.7%.  Again, unless you're making a twisty state that avoids all population centers, good luck with your red "stronghold" in New York.  Rural people are loud and armed, but they vastly overestimate their numbers.
They still MATTER, don't get it twisted, but they're not some silent disenfranchised majority.  They are literally the opposite of that.

You wouldn't have to get a "twisty state". Population patterns in both California and New York are heavily concentrated, and anything that severs NYC or the big SoCal cities from the rest of the area would sever the majority of the population and Democrat voters.

Exactly.  You'd need a state/district which was predominantly rural and wound around the population centers, taking just enough suburban area to get 55% or so Republicans.  Then a small number of 70-90% Democrat urban zones.

That's exactly how the majority of gerrymandering works.

It would be possible to draw a simple map of Texas as 5 states with each one anchored around one of the large blue cities, but no longer have to have their votes diluted by the hordes of dumbfuck racists around them.

Cali would also be viable, but admitting new states is not the same as accepting the split of a state, and frankly this sort of shit is the only reason we have two dakotas, a nebraska, a kansas, and a fucking idaho.

As long as a state consents it doesn't require the sort of rigamarole needed to do something like statify DC or PR.

Naturally, as with all things involving consent, republicans are against it on general principle.

If you split NY into two states, you would likely wind up with one of them being purple-to-red unless you sliced NYC down the middle. Far too much of the state's population (literally half) is concentrated there.

Yeah, as a New Yorker, I would humbly ask everyone to please not be one of those crazy people that thinks any State is getting divided.

The last time that happened was West Virginia splitting from Virginia, and that was due to the Civil War putting them on opposite sides of the conflict.
It ain't happening.

Aren't there already laws for dual-citizenship that make it acceptable to bring them to court in the USA for actions taken in other countries? There should be... It would make sense that some cases might not be accepted, but if you allow your people to commit actions in other countries, that would be illegal in yours, then they will import that crap back to your country.

As far as I'm aware, if you're a US citizen you're (ostensibly; enforcement is inconsistent as hell) subject to US laws (federal, at a minimum, and more depending on exact circumstances and jurisdiction) regardless of where you are. Extra citizen status(es) don't really factor into that much. Far as US law is concerned the US citizenship trumps everything else if they're wanting to drag your ass to court, occasional treaty or diplomatic agreement notwithstanding, and it's pretty damn rare any other country cares to argue too loudly about it. Trials in absentia are also a thing, so...

There's a long history of corporate kvetching over that, due to anti-corruption/bribery laws (theoretically) applying to US corps operating in other countries, even if basically everything involved in the particular operation was occurring outside US borders and not interacting with the US's direct economy or legal infrastructure much or at all. Lots of yelling about not being able to compete in corrupt foreign economies without being able to get involved in kickbacks and whatnot (narrator voice: their complaints are and always were horseshit, they just want to grift). Similar hooting and hollering involving taxation and sex tourism, iirc, occasionally stuff about medical tourism (particularly short hop stuff and prescriptions, if my memory's not short circuiting).

Short of it is there's a reason ex-pats renounce US citizenship sometimes. Folks often aren't particularly aware (or it's not relevant to their specific circumstances) that there's some pretty significant baggage attached to the benefits.

What are the benefits? Honest question here. If I got a second citizenship (lets assume EU) I'd want to retain my Spanish one for public healthcare access & other similar benefits. But does US citizenship have any perks beyond residence?

The US passport is one of the most convenient in the world, though other countries are catching up.

That, free movement through and ability to work in one of the largest polities in the world without having to deal with our fucked up immigration or visa processes, the forms of assistance embassies can provide (which from what I understand aren't trivial, if they don't decide to shit on you for being poor or foreign or something), access to federal programs of various sorts (which is significantly more attractive if you're not, like, poor, tbh), birthright citizenship for your children, so on and so forth. It's mostly residence and ability to participate freely in the economic and political spheres, but that's legitimately a really damn big thing when you're talking what amounts to the current world hyperpower, even if you don't intend to live there or visit much or at all.

There's also a reason many ex-pats retain citizenship even with the hassle that involves, heh.

On state-splitting, I still say Alaska should be split into two separate states. Not for gerrymandering purposes[1], just to relegate Texas to third-largest state by area... ;)

[1] Though perhaps there's an actual straight-midline cut, at some angle that can make it a Red state and Blue state cancelling-pair!

So, considering the influence that Israel has in American politics, which political group in Israel would want Biden, which would want Trump, and which would want Haley?

Trump is on fire, Biden has staff making trouble for Bibi's gang, and Haley just starting talking back about Biden's sanctions on Israeli's in the West Bank. I think she just got Bibi's support...

Poor Bibi. She doesn't deserve this.

Any answer to this question is blatantly anti-semitic, so hard pass.

What are the benefits? Honest question here. If I got a second citizenship (lets assume EU) I'd want to retain my Spanish one for public healthcare access & other similar benefits. But does US citizenship have any perks beyond residence?
Before President Obama, being a US citizen meant you could NOT get drone-striked AND that anyone that hurt you WOULD get drone-striked. It's one of the few things I actively disliked about President Obama's presidency.
But now  :'(

...
Although, arguably Failure George W.ussbag Bushcrying baby started that by allowing US citizens to be tortured abroad.
I fucking hope Desantis is just gone. His military service included advising the torturers at Gitmo.
