The blue-haired man stirred from his nap at the sound of voices and a lock being worked.

: "Sacre bleu, if you are going to be locking up a man for life you could at least let him sleep a lit..." The man's voice trailed away, and his grumpy manner vanished as he caught sight of who was opening the door.

: "What is this? The guards, they must have beaten me to death..." He produced a rose from out of nowhere with a flourish.

: "...for why else would an angel come to release me?"

[SOLDIER First]

Dale laughed to himself and folded his arms. No one had tried a line on Ava yet; it would be interesting to see if she would like it or she would slap the man. Either way, it was going to be amusing to hear her response.

[Chevaleresse]

"Alright, that one was actually pretty smooth. Generally you want to pick up women somewhere other than in the middle of a riot, though, bud."

[Sirus]

Gilbert bowed flamboyantly in order to hide the fact that he was secretly celebrating.

: "Wise words, mademoiselle. Is it safe to assume that you and your companions are responsible for this 'riot'? What is the occasion?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Nah. Trouble was started before we got here. Anyway, since I was nice enough to spring ya outta jail, what's your name?"

[Sirus]

: "My name is Gilbert," -- he pronounced it "zheel-bair" -- "and simply do be fair, would the lady deign to give me her name?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Ava. The archer's Dale. Eric's the big bastard, and the grouchy one over there is Caius."

"My parents were married, thank you very much."

[Chevaleresse]

"Good for you."

"And I was your cell mate, Nick."

[Sirus]

: "Oh, I am sure it was a, how you say, figure of speech Monsieur Eric. Since you all are being so kind as to free me from unjust imprisonment, perhaps I can assist you in your riot? I had a staff before these buffoons locked me up; I can use it to treat any injured if I get it back."

[SOLDIER First]

  "I'm not grouchy!"

: "Oh, I am sure it was a, how you say, figure of speech Monsieur Eric. Since you all are being so kind as to free me from unjust imprisonment, perhaps I can assist you in your riot? I had a staff before these buffoons locked me up; I can use it to treat any injured if I get it back."

  "I'm not grouchy!"
