Haven't been checking the forums for a while now, happy to see this one continue. But I'm saddened by the death of comrade Vuohijumalov, and naturally the retirement of Redstar. The revolting, barbarous capitalist/fascist hordes may have won this battle, but they shall not win the war!

As a new bright red dawn arises, I shall once again offer my able body and mind for the glory of the Motherland! I request a dorfing as comrade "Vuohijumalovich", labor not specified. If there's no more room in the starting 7, maybe pick the first one to arrive in a migrant wave?

Recall: Erin's background was a (lost) wandering trader. This was still his background back in BLAZECOOKS. The whole "I'm a capitalist in a communist civ" thing basically became his deal. Plus, comic relief.

Anyway, any of my characters will only be the bare minimum of subversive. Don't worry too much.
Mind you, the "bare minimum" can and will shift if fortress abuse occurs. Please note Erin's doings in Necrothreat.

Interesting thing about migrants from previous fortresses: they often arrive married after having been retired single.

Bob Bobivna may actually become "Old Mother Bobivna" if she emigrates.  Give her a little two room (2x3 bedroom and 3x3 Kitchen workshop) mother-in-law's hut out of the way of any industry and a little fenced garden out back.  Dig her a storage cellar under the hut with a trapdoor and stair leading down into it, to store the surface herbs and veggies from her garden. (Designate the kitchen to only take from this) She will putter in her garden and make marvelous dishes for "All her hungry little workers"...

Of course, if she does arrive with a husband in tow, re-name him "Bob Bobovich" and send him to work in industry or the mines.  Must show any of the little ones a proper Communist work ethic!

Hi, jut got done reading about the first fort.  Can I get dwarfed whenever you get migrants?  Profession doesn't matter.
