Hola, just saw that DF doesn't have this type of thread yet (got the idea from another great forum community I'm a part of) and decided to start one.
Introduce yourself - autobiography or just a word that has something to do with you - it doesn't matter. Post anything if you want to let the good folks of DF's community know who you are, how long you've been playing, when/why you're taking a brief hiatus.
I played DF back in 2013 and I can't remember shit about it. The controls/mechanics come back to me as I play the game, but nodding (the meat of DF imo) seems to be slipping away from me. I remember creating a cheat/debug character for examining fortresses in detail. It was a adamantine-scaled colossus with the dragon-fire reaction copy-pasted into the file along with another power I created (hurling molten moltite (high melting point metal) at targets) for terrorizing kingdoms and providing my later, legit adventurers to find (and recruit/be slain by).
I also had a terrible, virus-infested cesspit of a PC that had trouble running two-three-year-old fortresses with 10+FPS, so I got into Adventure mode a lot more. That is, until RL stuff got in the way and the laptop was mugged from me (poor bastard).
So here I am three - I guess four- years later playing it again. Helluva long hiatus. Awesome game, still, and Adventure mode seems a lot more fleshed out (people have other things to say beside "It was inevitable" now!) and animal men are integrated into the base races in forts and such, allowing for weirder characters (currently playing a lasher vulture).
