We're skilled in breaking and entering, not managing prostitutes.

Let's instead go to the casino. I like your idea though.

No update due to a lack of an actual consensus, but I'm just letting people know that the character creation is over - from last update onward you can't really change your past. (Some minor exceptions apply including details about grudges, but other than that...)

EDIT: I now see the confusion. By "What do you do?" I meant "What now?"
Sorry.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

You walk through the town to the pub. The building it resides in is a relatively modest building sitting in the middle of the town. Legally, they aren't allowed to have alcohol here, like the rest of the nation, but a combination of small town police and well-placed bribes allow it to run. Entering it, you see about 7 customers inside not including the staff.

Well, you're at the pub. What now?

Order a 'root' beer, and ask the bartender about the goings-on.

You spend $0.30 on a drink and use the opportunity to discuss goings-on with the bartender.
"Last I 'eard, the other pub's destruction was'n an accident. Two days ago, customer said they seen some guy arguing with the owner an hour before"

Huh. You drink your beverage as you contemplate what to do next.

Scope out the bar for interesting people.

+1 Make a mental note of them befote asking the Bartender how it was destroyed.
Also,
Ask a local drunk if they'd seen the man who'd been arguing with the other speakeasy's owner.

It's hard to define an "interesting person." But you do notice a group of 3 men sharing a table nearby. A bit of time spent sitting nearby eavesdropping yields some interesting results - they're an inexperienced band of house robbers. The main "inexperienced" vibe you get from them is mainly the fact that they're discussing this in public. That's usually not the best idea if you like not being in prison. Usually.

You also find a man noticeable absorbed in his drinking and decide to ask him a question. Did he see the argumentative man the bartender told you of?
"Oohhh, that guy? We're pals!"
He goes on to ramble about their misadventures and lives and fishing trips and nights at this place and discussions and drinking habits and miscellaneous events and completely unrelated events and camping trips and more. You eventually get the idea. Throughout the patron's rambles, you extract a name - Joseph Arbuckle. No address or other useful information, though.

You move back to your original seat and drink while you ask the bartender yet another question about the destruction of that place he was talking about.
"Clearly you 'aven't been 'ere for long! Everybody in town saw the big fire!"
