Summoning creatures is for later. I suggest smoke-based minions, once we get to the point of summoning them.

I do approve of the 'impersonate a priest' plan though.

Let's find out more about the departed priest, for now.

Waaiit a second.
Powers of suggestion. Cloak with emancipated hands. Shroud of darkness covering "face".
We're an ethereal, aren't we? Clearly Demonhood 2 is actually just Fantasy XCom. The ruse has been unveiled!

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

Go into the woods and find a wolf. Transform it into a wolf demon thing.

Then eat the wolf. Because you are hungry.

Sensepense is high enough already and animal bones in the woods wouldent worry them THAT much. There has to be something unusual. Like say. A demon wolf. Things they can't figure out

If an apex predator is found dead close to the village ripped open with its guts strewn all over the tress, people WILL worry.
Let's kill a bear or something, if a wolf isn't enough.

Previous Update (Nokluvgn enters Fellshore) | This Update (Nokluvgn learns about a priest) | Next Update (Nokluvgn feels sick)

Summoning creatures is for later. I suggest smoke-based minions, once we get to the point of summoning them.

I do approve of the 'impersonate a priest' plan though.

Let's find out more about the departed priest, for now.

You expend a modicum of mental energy to sift through the minds of the villagers for more information on their former priest. You assemble a basic knowledge of his person from their minds- enough to perform a crude impersonation of him, should you desire to.

Jitpau was, by all accounts, a most unlikeable man. Arrogant, greedy, unhelpful, and downright cruel at times, he did his job with the minimum of effort and the maximum of grumbling. Many villagers were led to question the necessity of various religious rituals seeing his all but blatant disregard for fast days, tithes, and daily prayer. In addition, the priest was argumentative, particularly towards the village witch, who he would in his frequent drunken stupors refer to as a 'demon-worshipping man-hating foul-mouthed whore'.
It was this last aspect of his unfortunate personality that led ultimately to his death.
A week ago, a stranger rode into town, carrying a burden of coins on his body and guilt on his soul. Jitpau was more than willing to relieve the man of both burdens, and they soon became good friends, drinking together late into the night, singing songs of a most inappropriate nature. In one of these drunken encounters, Jitpau must've impressed his hatred of the witch upon the stranger- perhaps jokingly wished for her death?
The witch died that night.
The next day, as villagers searched the village for the missing witch, Jitpau and the stranger argued. The man wanted his coin back, in exchange for services rendered. The priest insisted he had never asked for such services, cursing him in the names of the twelve gods. Their argument grew louder, until all the village could hear them yelling at each other. He merely said that the bitch deserved to die, not to actually kill her, the priest screamed. Do you think I care what you meant, just give me my fucking money, the stranger screamed back.
The distraught villagers surrounded the priest's house, planning to arrest both, when there was a particularly loud scream from the priest, this one of pain, soon dying down to a gurgle, followed by silence. For a minute nothing happened, then the stranger leapt out of an upper window and sprinted away across the moor, the villagers quickly forming a mob and chasing after him.

You obviously know the rest of this story.

You leave the inn and search for the mayor's house. As you stand before his door, you decide to
-Disguise yourself as a handsome stranger and try to convince the mayor to make you the new priest
-Don't disguise yourself, just break the mayor's mind and force him to make you the new priest
-Forget about this replacing the priest business, just eat the mayor
-Do something else

Use this profile of the priest to make a disguise that is the exact opposite. Win over the people with a persona that is gregarious, seemingly pious and devout. We can devour their souls more efficiently when they trust us.

Heh heh heh heh heh

You transform your visage into that of a humble priest, with kind and caring features, wearing plain grey robes as befits a pious man.
This makes you sick.
You knock on the mayor's door and explain, in your humblest tones, that you happened to be passing through and heard that this village was bereft of a priest, and offer to fill the position- temporarily, of course, as you would not be so forward as to try to claim this parish permanently.
This makes you sick.
The mayor buys this hook line and sinker, falling to his knees and praising your name. Your mesmeric influence was barely needed.

You are offered lodgings in the mayor's house for the moment, as he explains that whilst the position of priest comes with a house, the previous occupant left somewhat of a mess which will take some time to clean. He shows you to the village shrine. You hesitate for a brief moment before crossing the threshold- and are rewarded with a painful feeling all across your body. You manage to suppress your reaction to naught but a brief flicker of annoyance, which the mayor does not notice.
Nevertheless, this makes you sick.

The mayor introduces you to your new flock, and you once again make with the kind, pious words. The villagers cheer for their new priest. You smile and nod at them.
This makes you terribly sick, and you are unable to stop yourself from coughing violently, to the villager's concern. You explain it away as a mere cough, then bid them return to their homes whilst you pray.

You start to wonder whether this was such a good idea... perhaps you should
-Give up on this whole charade and just start eating people
-Preach a twisted version of the faith to start luring the villagers into darkness
-Keep up the disguise for a while longer, to further earn their trust, that the eventual betrayal may be all the sweeter
-Do something else
