Meanest thing I've ever done was all 4 or 5 times I played "Noble Spikes"

I made every other tile in a room a single crappy spear trap linked to a lever in the center. I then got about 8 nobles in the room, locked the door, and set the lever to repeat. Every time the lever was pulled half the nobles would get a random small injury and bleed all over the floor. Eventually all but the baroness and the tax collecter had bled to death. The baroness was crippled and the tax collector was mostly okay. Then I flooded the chamber for about 10 seconds and let them starve to death in 2-3 water.

I also once put a FREAK TON of animals in a cage - it weighed 42,000r by the time it was filled, at least 100 dogs, mules and horses. Then I used weatherdwarf to set the temperature to 0. They all froze and bled to death, and their bones decayed a minute later.

:o I bow down to you. You are truly the cruelest DF player I have ever to meet. You have just set the bar for my next death fort.

I started with elves in an arctic region by accident once, so I just forced them to dig, smooth, and engrave tunnels until they died of starvation and exhaustion.

I got tired of worthless immigrants in one of my fortresses, so I just branded every immigrant/dwarf I didn't like as a 'Heretic' and had them patiently stand on the ballista range while my legendary siege operator got some more practice. When the range got too clogged with corpses and debris, or my siege operator had particularly poor aim, I'd pull a few levers and have a nice flood of water wash everything out. A stupid dwarf that got elected as mayor who was pissing me off asking for fine pewter items or whatever eventually starved to death in there, the water never got high enough to drown him.

I imagine it's quite cruel to have someone starve to death waist-high in water (water that is full of mangled corpses and their body parts, along with rotting clothing), simply because the guy had the audacity to be freely elected by his peers.

Oh yeah, and I also did that trick where you set the cat's temperature to 25000 and give them [SEVERONBREAKS], then embarked with about 60 cats. But that wasn't really mean, since I made the dwarves all extremely burn-resistant, and it was too damn hilarious to be cruel. I mean, what isn't funny about a ton of !!Xstray cat brainX!!s or !!stray cat left ear!!s?

This is a stray cat brain. The object is showing some wear... Hehehe..

One of my older forts had about 400 animals and was seriously draining my FPS. So I dropped them all about 6 z-levels into a hole that I then covered and filled with water. Watching puppies and calves with broken spines drown in massive piles is mean.

Once I had a decent fort up and running, I decided to punish my nobles in an interesting way. Anytime anyone died, whether it was pet or a dwarf, I'd plop them into a glass coffin and place it in the Noble's various establishments.

I'm sure they didn't care, and probably 'admired a fine glass coffin lately', but the idea of them sitting in their own private dining hall, forced to watch some random Urist McUnluckyrecruit rot away, was enough for me.

Oh wow, that's hilarious.

Nothing new mean for me, yet, but I'm working on it.

About the only mean thing I do to my dwarves is keep sending them out with inadequate supplies into worlds populated by war-mad metal goblins. So far, none of them have lived to complained about facing off against well-armed goblins eight times their number while armed only with picks and leather armor.

Let's see...

One time, I was in a really bad mood, so I embarked by a magma pipe, dug in next to it, assigned my dwarves a meeting hall, then dug into the pipe from a few z-levels above them so they had no way out.  Granted, that was a fairly quick and merciful death compared to Sturthukzt 'Freefall' McGoblin.

After a siege, I wound up with a few goblins in cages.  Since I was in a fairly cliffy area, I decided to toss them.  The nearest cliff was just above my fort, maybe a 6-8 z-level drop.  I assigned all of them to be pitted there, and watched the chain of dwarves and ? goblins, then watched them thud into the floor.

They all lived.  I sent my military over to mop up, but for some reason, they left one alive.  He crawled pitifully away, spooking my civilians all the way... until he hit the cage traps again.  I immediately assigned him for re-pitting.  Drag drag drag, whoosh- THUD.  Still alive.  Wounds on every body part, falling unconscious every step, but he was still dragging himself around.  And heading for the cage traps again.

Okay, squishy, back o'er the cliffs ye go!

THAT time he died.

I killed the husband of one of my prisoners, and put his coffin next to a mason's workshop.
The prisoner has been forced to make 500 blocks next to her dead husband.
The 500 blocks now being finished, I ordered her to make a total of 20 coffins. Her prisoner number is #21...
She is, ofcourse, ecstatic, for watching that sublime door that seperates her from freedom.
