Weapon? Why use a weapon when you have an army of monsters and horrors to do your bidding?
-Powers-
Off Screen Plot Advancement- Bryn always has new monsters and minions every time she appears. Where she gets these servants is a mystery best left unanswered.
Death fell in love- You tend to get away with a lot of dangerous things when the grim reaper has trouble talking to you. It's cute, because he can sometimes be seen staring at Bryn from just out of sight.
Spellcasting is my hobby- Bryn has already mastered most of the dark arts and the holy arts, though she uses the latter to make fun of knights and paladins who think she is evil and cruel. Jokes on them, she has a sense of humor.
A potion for every ailment- Bryn is a very successful Alchemist. She always has a potion for every little need, from healing damage to resisting a dragon's temper.
-Fighting style-
Monster army- Bryn commands a horde of disgruntled monsters and undead who have a bone to pick with the servants of god. Most are just bored and wanted something to do. Brun didn't complain one bit when the monsters pledged to serve her. Must have been her looks. Might have been fear. Who knows~
Pledge yourself and I will support you- Bryn offers her support to anyone willing to repay the favor when she calls on it. She can provide anything you need, from spell-power and disposable minions, all the way to potions and the occasional back rub. Just be ready for when she calls the favor on you, as it will always be more than what was offered~
-Story-
Centuries ago when the Holy Knight began his crusade, a small village was undergoing it's own crusade, a witch hunt, seeking out a small clan of witches who were in hiding from the Knight. Among this clan was a young girl, barely in her twenties. Her name was Brynhilda. She was a nice enough person, helping those in need without asking anything in return. She had been out in the forest picking herbs when she heard the shouting and the horse hooves heading toward her. She had assumed that someone was in need of healing and she went to meet them, only to find several paladins pointing spears at her, shouting in some unknown language. The quickly captured her and placed her in irons, dragging her kicking and screaming back to the town where she was residing. In the center of town was a large unlit bonfire and several gallowes, from which the males of her clan were already swinging. Tied to several large posts were the females of her clan, a man in shiny silver armor was reading what sounded like last rites. The paladins who had captured Bryn made her watch as the silver knight set fire to the bonfire, condemning the clan of witches to death. Bryn screamed out and cried as the Silver knight walked towards her, a grim and menacing smile on his face. He offered his condolences to Bryn, and told her that soon, she would join the cursed witches in hell. He grabbed an axe from a nearby knight and began to give Bryn the last rites. At the end of it, he told her she wouldn't suffer, thanks in part to the village pleading with the knights to have mercy on her. He lifted his axe, and ended her life.
Generations later, Bryn awoke in a Mausoleum covered in cobwebs and bandages. She vividly remembered her head being cleanly removed and the knight laughing as her corpse was tossed onto a wagon with the bodies of her clan. As she attempted to remember what had happened, the iron bars locking her in opened up, letting a dim light wash into the room. She saw several folded clothes laying on a nearby table, devoid of the cobwebs that had covered her. Dawning her new attire, she stepped out and was greeted by several young women, all wearing outfits she had never seen before. the oldest of the sisters, as she would soon learn, introduced herself as Hecate, the mistress of darkness and the leader of the Coven of shadows. Bryn had only questions and Hecate was only happy to answer them. Many years went by, and Bryn learned many lessons from Hecate and her sisters. When Bryn had mastered her new crafts, Hecate told Bryn to spread fear and remind the outside world that the Witches of Old still lived, and that only misfortune and misery awaited those that betrayed the ancient covens. confused, Bryn left the sanctuary of shadows and started out into the world, learning about the new world she now lived in.
It was many years later that Bryn came across a camp of old paladins, who quickly took action and captured the ageless girl. the master of the knights, a man of forty years, sentanced Bryn to death and impaled her heart. Bryn only looked in horror as the sword was removed from her chest, the knights fearful of her. The old knight, who Bryn later learned was named Delthan, was just as confused as Bryn. Many questions and answets later, Bryn found herself acting as the squire to Delthan, who decided to keep her as his ward to ensure she did no harm to anyone. She found that she enjoyed the company of Delthan, seeing him as a kind of father despite his attempt at her life. He began teaching her the art of holy magic, in hopes that she would learn piety and responsibility. And she did, for a while.
Bryn was, by Delthan's opinion, 26 now, and Bryn had mastered the Holy arts he had taught her. He felt confident that she could become a healer or a cleric of good standing and decided to test her prowess. He had heard rumors of a dangerous beast lurking in some ruins near the town they were staying in, and had thought that this would be the best test for young Bryn's training. He sent her in to the ruins, and told her to slay the beast and prove to him that she was ready for the holy mantle. Bryn steeled her heart and enter the ruins, searching high and low for the beast. The beast as it turned out, was a manticore, and it had been waiting for her, hunger in it's mind. It's lair was covered in human and monster bones, previous feasts that had dared enter it's lair. But, as it turns out, Bryn was not fated to fight this monster. It leapt at her, or more precisely, over her, killing a goblin who had snuck in after Bryn. The manticore ignored her while it ate the goblin, then turned at her and nudged her back towards the exit, it following her closely. When Bryn made it back to Delthan, she found only heart ache and pain. Surrounding his corpse were a small tribe of goblins, picking through his belongings and desecrating his corpse. Bryn screamed, and the manticore began it's bloody massacre. Bryn spent several years at the ruins, the Manticore acting has her silent guardian, protecting her and keeping her company. finally, she had decided it was time to do as she pleased as she set out into the world with her manticore pet.
