Making Triple X Tycoon Part 22: Titcoin (acquisition)

This month I made a point to pull a double on the blogs since we shorted you one last month. That said, this one is a little different as it shows a bit of the other side of our business, outside of gaming, and how we're continuously expanding into new areas in order to both insure we can keep our doors open over the long term and provide you all with a unique experience. And no, this news has no immediate effect on Triple X Tycoon!

Saw the trailer for this on steam and it's pretty damn funny.  Feels like I've been watching this project since it was first announced here, warms my heart to see a live action goblin veteran pizza man motivated by cocaine to pound a naïve farmboy (who keeps doing that one thing).

I read about the game i think last year, or before ? At that time i thought it was a joke, only to create some provocative behavior or something, but it turns out it may be an great tycoon game actually, porn aside !

Steam asks you to black out the sexy parts in screeshots, or it's part of the game ? I think it's Steam only as your website shows full pictures, but i'd like to be sure you didn't censor the ingame "action".

Anyway, i'm curious to see how it plays when it's done.

And thanks for the announced Linux support !

Right, the game is uncensored and the black boxes were just for Steam to not come for my throat. Figured we were already pushing it.  But still, if somebody do want the block boxes.  I wrote in an option to do so at different stages of intensity.

So you pushed me over the edge.  See I had somebody ask us to add betamax sometime last year but I didn't think people even really knew it existed.  We opted to do format options instead (box sets for VHS, HD DvD or HD or 4K and so on) but we've had people really want that damn Betamax lately! So we're going to do it, although honestly it won't be in at launch, it won't take much to add either. 

I just released a new gameplay video that can be found here.  As we speak I'm doing a run through in my living room before cutting out a new playable.  Linux is first in line, Mac and Windows will need another run through but we're looking good on stability!

Also derailed myself for 24hrs to write in a research system because it really just felt like the Right Thing to Do.

We've got a Subreddit. I got hit by a range rover!  v2.5 is out, which is the first publically available release and there are a lot more new things to come.

Making Triple X Tycoon Part 26: Synopsis

And there's a new devblog.  If you're the technical type, feel free to hit up the Triple X Tycoon Trello for patch notes! Mobile and multiplayer are all still in development, but opting to open things up a bit as the best solution to getting everything back up to spec!  Steam users can expect a build up there within the next few days. Backers can expect 100% discount codes and Steam keys as well.

So based on our email, i will post here, it's easier to follow than email, and could give some traction to the game.

I think the start of the game is too slow, because of Director Points are way too scarce, or Techs are too expensive, one of them.

I would say, Techs are too expensive : let say you gain 1-3 DP per shot, the first Tech should be unlockable for 10 Tech, not 25. So after on average 5 shots, you can start to use solo Combo.

Next step, couples, should come quite fast too, like Tech 25, not Tech 69. Because, on top of that, you still have to research Tech for other upgrades, so if you want anything, you have to greed 10, 20, 50... shots with just the same gameplay, and it can be quickly boring, at least at this stage of developement (very early alpha).

After a few solo success, i recruted a Star, and advertize in a magazine for 1 week at 800€/day, and it was worthy. I pass 10 000 sales. I could unlock my very first Tech too, i picked Sex to access combo.

Then i recruited from a Casting, and my "Combo Solo" success movie sold super well with 1 week magazine advertize too, and i reached 200 000€.

Combo are uneasy to understand, too. I managed only one time to trigger the animation "ass up" from my lesbian solo. I tried to press Space when the Hearth was blinking, before, after, "Up, Down x3" from the Readme.txt, but somehow, she did the move once, and i don't even know what was the real trigger from my inputs.

But, from here, i felt "stuck" because of the lack of DP, i had only 3, and i felt i didn't want to grind to get at least 25, but my target was 69 to unlock Couples, and that's too much of the same gameplay to reach with a smile.

Also, it would be great to know what you actually unlock from Tech. If you haven't told me on email, i couldn't guess i needed Sex 2 (at 69DP) to do couples.

Then, the game crashed while i clicked on my Combo Solo movie to check the sales, so "game over".

Even though, i feel the game will be fun, after a good polish and balance, because the theme and the package are well done (pixel porn).
