Urist Ushilèzum versus a Giant Cave Spider on a mountainside.  The spider has already broken her arm, and she can already feel the paralysing poison coursing through her veins, but she rushes forward and gives her last strength into a swing at its cephalothorax...

(Notably, hitting the cephalothorax let her crush its heart.  Despite the fact that spider hearts are in the abdomen.  Ah, well...)

I find the captioning humorous because I'm sure no-one who kills giant spiders with a war hammer would ever, EVER, say "Desperate to fell the beast, I struck at its cephalothorax..." even to the most literate audience.

I'm sure no-one who kills giant spiders with a warhammer even remembers that it's called that.  Blame DF for being ridiculously accurate about anatomy (well, except for where a spider's heart is, but that's a minor point), I suppose.  I know Urist here would probably just say, "Eh, I was just squishing a bug".

Also, and I don't quite consider it derailing since this is a drawing thread, what do you think of the next-version dwarf descriptions? Seems like there might have been more important things to capture than the earlobes... and yeah, I know it's temporary.
