They are elfy enough. They eat corpses, remember? And fight naked with wooden swords. Hehe. DF elves are pretty badass.

Very good drawing. Dwarves have very short beards though. Well, maybe they just have such strange preferences :D.

The colourful elf works for me. Hes like "Elrond" mixed with assholery, zynism and Punk.

THe second dwarf-picture reminds me more of an well aged human hero when a dorf. You know that kind that pulls a "Obi wan" in the near future.

Well, I do believe they are all fucking psychotic? don't you? makes sense : )
+ Dwarves regularly actually do kill fiends in their sleep and wear their skins....as armor or hats or gloves or whatever.

Is this good enough for you? I mostly try to vary the length of the beards, as well as the type.

I agree with you entirely. Well, almost. The dwarves are in my mind only smaller, more robust humans. I find it sickening to have them all be fat little fuckers running around drinking booze and having a scottish accent....or something.
The booze I'm fine with, it's the " little fat fuckers" part i'm not so fine with : P
so, enjoy my style of human-ish dwarves.

Here's some little artwork of Âsax, the epic swallowmen.

It looks like a normal bird, but I don't care... he looks young (he was 11 years old when he defeat the forgotten beast), so I thinks is ok =P

I imagine dwarves pretty much as shorter, stockier humans. Not much shorter. Like, a tall dwarf could pass for a short human. 'Cept they got long beards making them look shorter. And pointy ears. For me, the humans are the only ones with round ears. And I often imagine goblins having gray skin. It is a valid goblin skin color, but relatively rare in the game I think.

Kastrol: Nice! It's so cool when the cave critters manage to take out forgotten beasts.

That oughta be the cutest rendition of a caveswallowman I have seen.

Kinda fun how Dwarf Fortress is cutesy for some and awfully gritty for others.
