This is pretty much what i just did in adventure mode:
I made a human adventurer just to check what size elf clothing was in relation to humans (it's small instead of narrow now). He managed to kill an acolyte of the fugitive elf civ that was hanging out near the subjugated forest retreat. Then i retired him in that forest retreat. The cool thing is, the human civ he was from all wear awesome bronze masks.
Then i made a dwarf adventurer to check the size of elf clothes in relation to him. So he traipses down to that forest retreat to compare with the human-civved elves there (they fit dwarves now). Then he recruited my retired human swordsman there and went to the nearby dark fortress which for some reason i thought his civ was at war with (it wasn't). So to relieve the boredom i rounded up all the child prisoners (mostly dwarves and 2/3 humans) and recruited them and then asked the resident coal devil master (a kangaroo twisted into human form made of coke. Beware its poisonous vapor!) for a quest. He asked me to kill the only Hydra in the world.
I then had the cool idea to pretend that killing the Hydra was the price the demon asked for me to free all the children without fear of reprisal. Since he was a demon, we made sure to bring the children with us so he wouldn't go back on his word. The Hydra actually went down really quick, we chopped off 5 of its heads and it bled to death before it got anywhere near any of the children. Then after poking around in the cave (the cavern it connected to was completely cut off by water) we went to the capital of the human civ and retired there.
There were actually quite a few more children in our group than are depicted in this group portrait, but i figured 15 was enough. I imagine that after this the two adventurers will build an orphanage/academy for whatever kids can't go back to their families.
Ooh, see how many boys and girls of each race you can pick out (note: all the dwarf kids have beards).
Edit: moved the picture to the bottom of the post for ease of use.
