As the title says: where'd your username come from?

My username is a shortening of "Tawarochir", which is Sindarin (a Tolkien elvish language, for the uninitiated) for "forest rider". I decided that sounded cool enough and used it as the name of a D&D character I never played. Eventually it just kind of snowballed into a catch-all username I used for everything. Earlier this year, I decided it was too unwieldy and hard to spell (I think maybe two or three people spelled it correctly on a regular basis,) so I shortened it to what most people called me anyway. This accidentally made it a type of dinosaur, a type of cooking implement, and a city in New Zealand.

Elsewhere (i.e. Reddit, the YouTube account I don't use,) I am known as "Commando Grandma," after a character I had in LCS once and specifically chosen because I thought it sounded username-y.

(There's already a couple threads like this, but it seems the newest one is three years old and thereabouts is where I draw the line about necro'ing.)

I used to have a stock first initial - last name - number - website abbreviation username, but I changed it to something more awesome: my name in Toady Dwarven.

It's how I sign my name, but you pronounce the ™ as "Thyme", though it amuses me finding sites which let you use unicode characters for usernames.

It's the last name of the protagonist of one of my favorite games, as well as a pretty cool noun, with my favorite number at the end.

It's a decent sounding name, it's difficult to track between websites unless I want it to be, and it's untraceable to the real me.

Elsewhere, I go by Arxian, Arxiane, Arxil or Arxile if Arx isn't available.

When I was younger I REALLY loved the Final Fantasy games, and so took the nick Leviathan after the summon spell.  That was a bit much to type though so I eventually shortened it to just Levi.

I played a lot of Heroes of Might & Magic with my brother, and I played as wizard faction in 2.

So, I had the name Digital Wizard, because it sounded neat.

Eventually, when playing Heroes of Might & Magic 3,  I played as demon faction.

So, I thought it only appropriate to name myself DigitalDemon.

It just kinda stuck, and carries a lot of nostalgic value.

It's what my 13-year-old self thought was cool, plus some numbers that were originally supposed to be a reference to the Sherman's derp gun in WoT, but got changed because I screwed up the account creation somehow. I've been just using Wolfhunter recently, because it's easier to type, and sounds a bit less juvenile.

It's Skyrim dragon language for "soul master." It was originally supposed to be necromancy-related but I eventually took it to mean something along the lines of "I am the master of my own soul."

It was a name I made for a character in a fanfiction that I liked so much it's my username almost everywhere. It is much better than the angsty name I used before.

Misspelled"Sirius" for a long-ago character name. The rest is history.

My name (Finn) reversed _{yes it's not really reversing shut up} (Niff) with an F at the start (Fniff).

Simple but effective.
