(Either way, Alchemy is an Afternoon class. So here goes.)
Update 12
Later that evening...Kyron stopped by at Maorth's dorm. Maorth gave him a simple explanation of magic and its history (PM'ed).
Raioyris spent all evening endulging in books. (PM'ed, and spells gained)
Current Time: Early-Morning The suns rise on the horizon, signalling the true end of the coldspell that was yesterday. The sky is bright and clear for miles in every direction, and the Tigereye moon hangs in the sky to the south as it always does, never changing.
Everything still has a fresh coat of snow. Bronze metallic constructs can be seen dragging plows to shovel snow off of pathways and into the heated water or a bank on the side of the path.
Inside Classroom 101 at the Department of Life...
Current class: Intro to RestorationThe classroom is located at the base of the Life Building. Tasked with supporting the floors above, the room is littered with support struts made from logs, conveniently used as centerpoints for circular collaboration-oriented tables with eight metal seats apiece. It fits, seeing as this is a restoration-based course. Healing is rather team-oriented.
Amarinth Claustad is at her desk in the corner with a big book that looks losely bound at the seam. It's titled:
Human Anatomy, Natural and Supernatural 2nd ed."Looks like everyone's here. I'll give everyone a minute to get settled and then I'll start,"Students pile in around Muble, most tending to avoid her and opting to sit next to more familiar jawlines instead. On the other hand, there are open seats at every table. Table 1 has the four human girls and one guy, Table 2 has a mixture of four young and older human men along with two demihumans: a dwarf in white and a short, green-skinned fellow that seems quite sociable. Table 3 has a gray-hooded and cloaked figure with bizzarely broad shoulders, an incredibly short human-looking girl (you aren't sure if humans grow that small), a person in an all-covering suit of armor, and another human male. Seems like a moderately diverse class.
Table 4 is empty.
At the top of the Department of Life...
Current class: Intro to GeneticsDr. Nabul stands before the four members of his class:
-Dan Adarna, of course
-Another elf, this one taller, skinnier, and with more pronounced pointy ears. His skin is also a dark green with extremely thin orange hair. He wears the standard uniform, and doesn't seem too converned about his appearance or grooming.
-A man with a large mane and a red tail as part of his uniform--covered in a row of thin spines about finger's length each. His uniform is a blood red with white highlights, and the Folstag insignia hangs from his neck on two copper medallions.
-A black-haired human girl in a black dress, with a wool cape over her shoulders, wearing the Folstag insignia on her earrings.
"Ah, turnout was lower than I thought..."He pulls a thorny vine out of his pocket, ignoring the thorns entirely (his hand doesn't get bloody). Snapping it into a long stick, it suddenly hardens into shape invisibly without a dint of magical decorum.
"But it doesn't matter, I will make you all greater than the others. And it is a good day," he says as birds, squirrels, and small, cuddly animals gather around him. The cat is back, and it rubs past Dan's shin once again.
Inside Classroom 304 at the Department of Fire...
Current class: Fire Magic BasicsThe room is built out of white marble. It's rather bright, and somewhat jarring to walk into a skylit room as bright as the snow outside, almost forgetting you are indoors. But regardless, a class of fourteen people sits down at the curved desks, set in an amphitheatre-like fashion and carved entirely out of stone.
"Look who's here! It's wonderful meeting so many students at once. It appears the morning class is the most popular by far. You're going to drive the other professors out of their jobs!" Professor Armstrong says in jest.
"Though I will be your professor today, we have a very special guest..."In walks the Princess. Folstag is supposedly a Kingdom ruled by a Kaiser, and although his role in domestic matters is largely ceremonial, the royal family is very well-known ourside of Folstag for their acts of welfare and patronage. Standing in the current line of succession are, in order, the Queen herself, due to become Kaiserin if her husband dies; the princess, currently the only heir old enough to rule ay age 16; and the three princes, who will take the Princess' spot once the oldest comes of age at 15 (oldest currently: 12).
The princess herself, dressed in splendor, also wears a very striking article: a sort of scarf whose tail ends divulge into wisps of blue flame, colorful even in the washed-out lighting.
Most of the humans stand up and bow, (Though not all of them. You can tell by their faces that they are clearly foreign). Some of those not bowing, including all of the demihumans (three beastmen, a construct like a suit of armor, and an elf) eventually catch on and perform the gesture themselves.
Inside Classroom 401 at the Department of Time...
Current class: History of MagicRooms in the Time building are just as ornate as the exterior of the building. The windows open by means of a hand crank at the rear of the room, attached to a chain system of pulleys. The window sills and walls feature rich masonry, with a classical-styled column between every window and detailed engravings on the sills and mouldings depicting flowers, weapons, and crows. A chandelier would illuminate the room at night with candles, and the tables are glass with thin-framed, modern styled chairs. There is enough room for sixteen, but the room is spacious; a blackboard takes up the front wall, and counters lining the sides feature globes, maps, and letters from history with writing supplies in the drawers.
One giant painting on the inner, non-windowed side of the room depicts a fierce battle between an army of men-at-arms and several lines of gun-toting infantry. Cavalry seem to be flanking the gunners from the woods, though their inevitable demise is forever memorialized in picture.
Seven classmates are present, mostly a mix of nobles, both male and female, young and old, but mostly young. No demihumans, surprisingly.
The professor stands at the front, his purpleish-grey robe bathed in sunrays from the windows. It glitters.
"Welcome to the History of Magic, where we'll be discussing various events in history that were essential to the foundation of Magical studies as a rigorous study.
Our first subject will be the prevalence of Witchcraft Legislation and the acceptance of magical studies as a rigorous discipline. Before I bore you with historical accounts, has anyone here had any personal experiences with witchcraft-related events that you'd be willing to share?"Two hands are raised, a young woman and an older man, but Demivh could raise his as well.

Current class: Blurring the LinesRooms in the Time building are just as ornate as the exterior of the building. There is enough room for sixteen, but the room is spacious; a blackboard takes up the front wall, and counters lining the sides feature vials stored on racks, thick-walled glass terrariums with ports for inserting samples and creatures, graphs of the seven elements, and various sculptures. One looks convincingly like real ice, another looks like a petrified tree. There is also a glowing ball of darkness trapped inside a glass bubble with a cork on the top. It crackles periodically, but it's quiet enough you don't notice it over the professor's words.
"Welcome to Blurring the Lines. An introductory course to mixing the elements. As you know, there are seven elements..." he draws out some pictures on the chalkboard.
"But clearly nature is full of wonders and mysteries. Like Ice, for example. Would anyone have any ideas on how to create ice using only one of these seven elements?"
