Basically, intolerance of intolerance is not okay.

Ambiguity causes breakdown in communication. However, note I am not the one who started the dialog with that choice of words. I merely pointed out the error.

No, like I said, Doze started it, and you wholeheartedly agreed. You didn't point out shit. I had to spend like 20 minutes digging though your non sequitur responses to suss it out.

Which, in the lexicon I used, is correct. Which is why I agreed.

They were also not nonsequitors. You just did not understand the language.

Which I helped with, when you stated it clearly what your objection was.

Yes, the Meribster dictionary.

Google is fairly sure that dictionary doesn't exist. ;)

https://www.google.com/#q=meribster+dictionary

I was trying to shitpost along with you guys.

No. Shit. That's my point.

I said words. They turned out to be too vague. I tried to clarify, which didn't work. Does it work now?

I don't blame you for misunderstanding my vagueness. I also don't think that I have "won." That was tongue-in-cheek.

On weird:

Wierd used the same definitions as I did. He agreed, because with his definition, the words I said made sense and lined up with his stance on the topic.

You apparently use a different definition for the word "tolerance," so the words I said made no sense. I apologize for being unclear.

Whoosh.

I see my command of irony is too great.

The use of language other than its literal intention, that my friends is irony.

Eg, "I see your shitpost, and raise 50."

Aaaaaand let's shift bases.

Great quote here.

Quote
And this isn’t a weird exception. Freud spoke of the narcissism of small differences, saying that “it is precisely communities with adjoining territories, and related to each other in other ways as well, who are engaged in constant feuds and ridiculing each other”. Nazis and German Jews. Northern Irish Protestants and Northern Irish Catholics. Hutus and Tutsis. South African whites and South African blacks. Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs. Anyone in the former Yugoslavia and anyone else in the former Yugoslavia.

Freud is a quack compared to modern psychology, sure, he made it popular, but he's wrong on so many things.

I'm okay swapping gears, the euphoria is getting a bit much.

That's. Interesting. Although I think in an ever more connected world we're able to find more and more people further and further away more and more different from ourselves. And realize that we have room to hate absolutely everyone. I think we've made a lot of progress on the hate front.

I would point out parallels with nonhuman objects, specifically the uncanny valley with robots.

This is twofold in reasoning.

1) the evolution of such hate requires dehumanization.

2) the most hated things are those most like ourselves, but also decidedly not like us in some way.

How the heck did we go from Freud, to puppies, to uncanny-valley robots in four posts?

It's hard to hate somebody that you never see. The people right next door? Easy.

How the heck did we go from Freud, to puppies, to uncanny-valley robots in four posts?

Welcome to Bay12, where the rails never even existed.
