It's only 4 years. How bad can it be?
It will be 8 years guaranteed. It takes a particularly bad president AND amazing opponent to stop modern presidents from getting their second term.
Neon, it will be 4. People aren't going to give him a second chance to fuck things up. The only way he will is if the democrats have literally no one but hillary to support once nmore.

Please Bush messed up BIG TIME and went up against Al Gore who was overflowing with popularity... and he STILL won.

Trump is getting 8.
Nope. He's either getting 4 or getting zero. We can't support the amount of stupid a two term would expel.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Democracy is good, except for when people vote for things we don't like, then it's bad

Well the fact that someone who is horrible for a country can be elected AND that the population can team up on someone undeserving are all genuine limitations on Democracy.

Trump winning, assuming he really IS that bad, isn't a sign that democracy is useless (ignoring that the USA is a republic) but that democracy has downsides and that people should be vigilant to make sure this doesn't happen.

The same way that the USA isn't flawed because Taft became president once.

Oh it's also worth mentioning that Kansas republicans endorsed a democrat because they hate Brownback so much, and he still got all 3 of his terms.

Just like free speech. It's all good until people start saying things that other people don't like.

If we really thought democracy was a good system we wouldn't immediately set out to undermine and neuter it whenever we see it.

Which once again, the USA is not a democracy :P

And I don't mean in a Cheeky "Its a Constitutional Monarchy" where it is effectively meaningless.

The EUs probably going to shed a few more countries before this is all done. Trump may well give Russia a free hand, which is incredibly bad for the Ukrainians, and Eastern Europe in general. Same thing with the Chinese, which is if anything even worse. Depending on what happens, we might see an emboldened North Korea, too.
I am enjoying panic in Ukrainian twitter right now. I never considered Clinton better (for Ukraine) In my eyes it was a lose-lose election right from the beginning but there are many Ukrainians who wanted Clinton very hard.
Well, considering the ukrainian and russian antagonism, it's hard to think that closer relationship between usa and russia bodes well for ukraine.

Ah, alright, that's actually a fairly reasonable statement.

This is why these 'lesser of two evils' elections are fucking cancerous, I knew this was the probable outcome, hate is a more effective motivator than altruism, and Trump had a lot more hate on his side.

It's half past six in the morning, the booze shop ought to open in a few hours.

I feel sick, and I think I'm gonna cry.
All I can hope, is that maybe I was wrong, and somehow, despite all the evidence, what Trump thinks will work actually will.
I've always wanted to visit Europe, maybe it's time to actually learn German and move.  Though with the way the world is going now, I'm not sure even Germany can be trusted not to turn back to the Nazis.

Germany is not particularly lovely this time of year, but it will be come spring. One could do worse, and the Nazi danger isn't very high at all; there is a sence of Fool me Once, Fool me Twice. I would recommend the Nordics, too, but... Well, everything points to some rather nasty elections when the time comes.

Maybe this will at least get us on track for using a better election system than the EC.

I have beer in the fridge.

Wisconsin beer. I would throw out all the cheese in protest but my wife would gut me.
