Re: overpopulation solutions:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Polls from after the first prez debate have pushed Clinton's win probability over at PEC back up to 86%/91%, along with another reminder from Prof. Wang that this is the most stable presidential election cycle in 65 years of polling. Largely due to polarization.

Kaine was almost embarrassingly aggressive and honestly pretty rude, but maybe that was the right tack.  Like one of the spin-room people pointed out, Pence didn't really defend Trump from Kaine's attacks.  Something like...  "Kaine was fighting for Clinton 2016, Pence was fighting for himself 2020".

I did really appreciate Kaine's stance on religious freedom, though, something it turns out Pence is a major proponent against.  Lovely.  I probably should have recognized him...

Yeah, he kept running into the same mistake Trump did, but at least he wasn't doing it obnoxiously like trump was.

In the town hall format of the next one, interrupting is probably going to be less tolerated, hopefully. Also, I'm imagining Trump constantly circling around Clinton like a shark for some reason.

I think this misguided interruption rule was a one time thing.

So apparently the new made-up scandal is that TARP money was used to fund the DNC or something. I'm not sure what to make of that trend toward hacktivism and presidential elections.

You know, I was going to say that technically this current discussion is amazingly off-topic vis-a-vis the intended role of this thread as Ameripol: The German Edition, and thus could use its own thread, but then I realized that the actual current title of this thread is amazingly apropos to the current invective-filled dialogue about...
I am the thread's OP, and I approve of this message.

Photoshophism, methinks.

E: So this is kinda' neat. Passover of the VP debate, checking various claims, coming from the NPR.

Incidentally, to respond to this:
Did Kaine just accidentially say 'I don't believe in this nation'? I missed the part before that though, so, not sure the context.
Kane did actually say the words, "I don't believe in this nation". It was part of this statement:
Quote
But I don’t believe in this nation -- a first amendment nation where we do not raise any religion over the other and we allow people to worship as they please, that the doctrines of any one religion should be mandated for everyone.
Do have to wonder how fast someone'll strip out everything past that first nation, though. Quick news check seems to suggest it hasn't happened yet, at the very least.

So word around the Twitblogoball is that Trump is not happy with Pence not coming to his defense last night, and even MORE unhappy that he upstaged him by not shitting the proverbial bed onstage.

Anyone else think Pence is already thinking ahead to Pence '20?

Wow Trump is stupid.  Pence was dealt the harder hand but fought to a narrow victory.

What are the odds that Trump kicks Pence out?

Any other election, I wouldn't think that a candidate kicking his running mate out would be even remotely worth considering.
