Something I saw pointed out a while ago... how old are the ones Trump goes after for wives generally? What's a few years either way when youre a couple decades older than someone, right?
Are you implying that it's an easy jump for a 40 year old man to rape a 13 year old girl because he was with a 23 year old woman once?
Bill Clinton on the Lolita Express is a bit dodg tbh

News link for Lolita Express

For your consideration.
That article was such a load of crap.  Most of the problems it documents aren't problems of American politics, they are problems of Republican politics.  The democrats didn't have those problems... because the democrats practiced democracy while the republicans allowed for the tyranny of the plurality.

But people will bend over backwards to insist both sides are the same.  Bernie Sanders a political sociopath?  Come on.  You can argue he got red mist in his eyes but he was always advocating for things that the democratic party wants advocacy for.  Ted Cruz routinely embarrassed his party at the tactical level.  There's no comparison.

Mainiac dude, I'm a big fan of a lot of the stuff Bernie wants, we NEED more socialism in this country flat out, and I totally approve of him trying to screw over a party to get that done... I wish he had played the political game better, honestly, but he hasn't been pushing democratic ideals, nor has he ever been a democrat, you know this. Killing a democratic stand-in, skinning it to wear it as a suit, and campaigning in it is a good step for someone trying to drag things further left.

I didn't see Sanders even in the quoted version of the article, my eyes glazed over at the mention of fishdicks guy, but the idea that Democrats don't play the game and it is all Republicans screwing things over? Yeahhhhhh... that's why Hillary won isn't it, she plays the game?

I'm stating that creepy behavior is creepy. Clinton being creepy is no different from Trump being creepy, except I'm slightly more confident that Clinton won't rip off a human skin mask and reveal he is actually a gigantic gila monster at some point. I'm old enough now that I could have an 18 year old kid who just made me a grandparent. People with kids my age dating people young enough to be my kids is just a creepy sort of thing, sorry, there's no way around that.

Max, if democrats dont believe in any of the stuff Bernie talked about, why does so much of it appear on the Martin O'Malley campaign website? https://martinomalley.com/category/15-goals/

Like okay you dont believe Hillary Clinton exists.  Cool.  But why is this stuff on the O'Malley website?

I try not to believe anything, and O'Malley who?

If democrats were actually pro-socialism, they'd be pushing for it instead of scrambling to respond to a popular wave of support for it. Yes, they're far and away less anti-socialism than the other party, whoop-de-doo.

If democrats were actually pro-socialism,

I'm sorry, I'm having trouble understanding that word.  Do you mean Social security, medicare, medicaid, the minimum wage, carbon regulation and government provided health insurance?  Or do you mean something else?  Perhaps nationalization of major industries?  I dont recall Bernie Sanders doing too much talking about a government takeover of GM.

So to summarize, I'm incorrect about what I said about Bernie Sanders being mostly in line with Democratic aims because of "socialism" a term that you refuse to define.

Well gee, Max, I can't argue with that.  I guess I was wrong.  Bernie Sanders is a political sociopath contrary to what I said.

To reframe that less inflammatorily,

The point being made is that you reject the notion of Democrats  as "pro-socialism", while refusing to explain what definiton of a very vague and varying word. By US standards, most European countries are very socialist, while many centrist or even conservative Europeans are liable to look at American "socialism" and wonder if they've been given the right documents.

Though it's... fairly hard to argue that "European socialism" (i.e. democratic socialism) isn't what the democratic party has been pushing towards for, like. Longer than I've been alive. Maybe not 100% always on point, but most of the things you'd see in a functioning democratic socialist state has been either party policy or what party policy is trying to make viable on a political/cultural level for... decades. It's not exactly recent or some kind of new fad...

^Yes, they've been pushing that way in part, bit by bit for a long time, but it's easy to point out "well, we're trying to do this stuff" when your entire nation has been fighting an ideological war against it for longer than anyone can remember, letting any sort of opposition stand out as support, even when it's just not actively pushing in the same direction.

I said they're not as anti-socialism as the other party, and that the whole word and positions linked there have been a political bogeyman here in the US for longer than most of us have been alive, indeed there were communist (which isn't really socialism proper, what with state-socialism and command economies and such, but close enough that they get lumped in together) and "red scares" over a century ago, so no, I don't feel like going in to an endless back and forth redefining a term or explaining why concessions in that direction are anything but concessions.

Max, there aren't a lot of definitions of socialism that include Bernie Sanders and dont include Martin O'Malley or Barney Frank or Elizabeth Warren.  Pretty much the only one I can think of is "uses the title democratic socialist instead of progressive".

Yes...?

Wait, not sure I parsed that syntax right.  I was trying to say that those would be three examples of pretty popular mainstream democrats.
