Yup, the anti-interest thing is one of the fairly black and white commands in the bible. Jews could charge interest to foreigners, but never to their own people:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usury#Religious_context
Quote

Exodus 22:24 (25)—If thou lend money to any of My people, even to the poor with thee, thou shalt not be to him as a creditor; neither shall ye lay upon him interest.

Leviticus 25:36— Take thou no interest of him or increase; but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

Leviticus 25:37— Thou shalt not give him thy money upon interest, nor give him thy victuals for increase.

Deuteronomy 23:20 (19)—Thou shalt not lend upon interest to thy brother: interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of any thing that is lent upon interest.

Deuteronomy 23:21 (20)—Unto a foreigner thou mayest lend upon interest; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon interest; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou puttest thy hand unto, in the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

Ezekiel 18:17—that hath withdrawn his hand from the poor, that hath not received interest nor increase, hath executed Mine ordinances, hath walked in My statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

Psalm 15:5—He that putteth not out his money on interest, nor taketh a bribe against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

As you'll notice, there's no utterance of "usury" here, only talk about "interest". That's because usury is a western European term derived from latin, not actually used in the bible itself.

So given "Jews lend money" and "Moneylending is the root of all evil in politics", is the lesson here that Jews control and manipulate world politics from behind the scenes vis-a-vis moneylending?

Obviously not, but now we've illustrated quite nicely how that sort of myth gains credence. If you believe those two things, it's not at all a huge leap to "Jews are running the world".

The point was that the basic concept of interest is what is being discussed, in no uncertain terms.

Rockpheds argument was that the bible bans usury "without defining it", whereas if you read the (translated) passages, it's quite explicit about what exactly is banned, sometimes describing it three different ways to ensure there's no weaseling out based on a technicality. e.g. when it bans interest or "any increase" of the principal amount of the loan. So any sort of charges are out too.

They've depreciated in value by aging, obviously.

That sounds more like "please take care of my sheep this summer" than loaning, to me.  You should be paying them for the food and flock management.

Today on Twitter, Trump says that the US has to considerably enlarge and strenghten it's nuclear arsenal, 'until the world comes to it's senses regarding nuclear weapons'.

Great, now he abolishes non-proliferation. I wonder if China and or Russia will wait with the nuking until after he is inaugurated.
Just to be sure, I suggest everyone starts running to the nearest nuke shelter.

Here's some context though: http://www.cnn.com/2016/12/22/politics/donald-trump-strengthen-expand-nuclear-capability/index.html  https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/dec/22/donald-trump-tweets-expand-nuclear-weapons

Putin is the one who said it first and then Trump followed up with his. Putins statement seems a bit vague and so does Trumps. Sounds like some pre-emptive sabre rattling on his part.

If he doesn't have a nuclear plan already, I bet he wishes he had one.

Hard to tell if relations between Trump and Putin are starting to sour a bit or not.

I wonder if Donald Trump plans to incorporate tactical nuclear weapons into conventional army's arsenal... that sounds like it would be right up his league.

OK yeah I walked right into this one :-[

EDIT: Welp, here comes the targeted anti-LGBT oppression:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Pfft, they did the same thing for the Energy department and EPA asking for those that worked on Global Warming, then they pulled it back after backlash saying 'NVM, it's not sanctioned by us!'. If they pull it back again while saying the same thing, you've gotta wonder what's going on.

Obama does things, is president: Not news.

Trump types things, is not president yet: news.

The problem here is actually the news.
