1.5 years in.





I did dig a bit in the soil level, three big rooms for three more guilds. I underestimated the size needed for all the surface construction. I thought about expanding to the east a bit for more living areas and housing the three guilds on the left in a building with multiple stories.

Most of the lifestock is kept underground in pens with nestboxes.

I drafted 4 peasants into the military and invested 25.000 gold in 5 full sets of afelsteel armor bought from the Succubus merchant. Steel that smells of sulphur is still steel, right?

Everyone is happy, no one is injured, we have 70 animals by now, access to 3 wells with fresh-water and a double-locked gate.

Life is good.

Nothing could go wrong, right?

Why not build up instead? Make a big multilevel grand guildhall that houses the guilds.

I am building up, but it takes forever. For now I want a walkway with fortifications on the walls and a second story for the merchant area, a form of roman forum with pillars... lots of merchants to put in the second story.

Edit: Second year almost done, although I'm being overrun by pets. 275 units to be exact. Just set about 150 to be butchered, mostly peachicks and chicks and tiny tiny gooslings. FPS hurt, so I'm cleaning up.

Then you almost certainly didn't select any other races playable in Fort mode in the GUI, although there's a small chance that whatever other races you set playable died off in world gen.
