((Just a note, gonna take inspiration from Dragon ball, Fairy Tale, Overlord, and non-anime/manga stuff.))
Yes, that makes perfect sense. Sometimes, the ends dictate the means. Power is a goal that many have, but few achieve it. Maybe you'll succeed!

Act One: The Beginning
You're awaken to your mother nearly knocking you off your bed from shaking you.
"Urist McGeneric Garyu, get up! Your friend is waiting for you to go on this 'adventure.' Just the idea of it worries me enough, but you sleep like a bear! What if you're attacked in your sleep?" Ah, you remember. Today's the day you leave to the capital of the kingdom, Rescot! There are many opportunities for somebody of your caliber to become a powerful caster, legal and illegal. It is also in extremely close proximity to Shinwa mountains, which is a host to powerful warriors and beasts. Of course, you aren't going alone. Your lifelong friend, Tora, was coming with you. She's around as strong as you, and is loud and quick to anger. You'd grab the gear and provisions you prepared for the trip, and met her outside.
"Nice job! You managed to eat up extra time," Tora would sarcastically remark.
"If there's anything you need to do, let's be quick about it."Magic Strength:150

Magic Strength is around how powerful you are. This effects your physical and magical abilities. While somebody with a lower Magic Strength than you can beat you, if they're much lower, I won't even role for the attack. For comparison, the average non-combatant has 0 magic strength, being a completely normal human. This doesn't mean they are physically weak, it just means they aren't superhuman. The average soldier is around one hundred, while an apprentice wizard is one hundred fifty. A European dragon would be in the low thousands. It is safe to say at a million, a being could obliterate a planet with heavy effort, or barely survive the destruction of one.
Training is important to get stronger between combat. I'll indicate good times to train, or you can. This is a way to get stronger between doing things. If you're beaten in a fight by an enemy stronger than you, you'll get a training bonus. It's important to note that you can only gain Magic Strength when training during acts. Training between acts is automatic, and has better gains. It also gives a choice of a new ability.
