Birch nods as he grabs two cases and walks over setting them each on a table in front of the group.
"Yeah, I do most of my work in the field, observing pokemon in their natural state, that kind of stuff. Ah, now then, the case next to me on the table is the one with the pokedexes in it. Feel free to grab one while I deal with this other one..."
The professor moves to the side and begins fiddling with some knobs and switches on the back.
"Darn thing... you know, before we just kept pokeballs in the lab for storage, never had any trouble with that."
He chuckles awkwardly.
