Actually, I might. I guess five years of Syrian war makes it harder and harder to get worked up at the Israeli human right violations. And it's been almost two years since Protective Edge, I'm sure I'll find some viagra for my hate boner the next time a few thousands Palestinians civilians dies.
Next you'll say Putin did nothing wrong :3

Russia is a regional power at best.

Russia is pretty obviously not a superpower, unless you're of the school of thought that you don't get to have a single-superpower world.

And those people are terrible.

Russia is maybe fourth, and that's an incredibly generous stretch.

I've always personally welded the term "superpower" to "gigantic nuclear arsenal" and "capacity to end technological civilisation", although in aware that technically there's sociopolical and economic stuff in there too.

And as for regional power, "Eurasia" is quite a lot of world to dismiss as "regional"

Russia's the closest non-U.S. state to superpower status, but they're still below the threshold and have been for decades. China isn't, largely because they can't effectively project force beyond their own theater. That said, the Chinese internationalist efforts in Africa and SE Asia are a strong case for them seeking to develop into a superpower on the diplomatic stage, even if they can't reasonably be described as a military superpower.

"Eurasia" is quite a lot of world to include in a sphere of influence that extends about thirty miles past the border of Russia, if that.

Russia has a force projection capability that's comparable to China, and probably underneath it, because their modernization efforts are, as a general rule, absolutely terrible.

Absolutely true, especially in regard to sea power, but they at least have the advantage of theoretically being able to put together a transportation network that would allow direct access to most of Eurasia. Granted, I don't actually expect that in any realistic world.

That said, China also has a looming internal crisis when the intent to bring the state back into line with their nationalist-socialist principles once their mixed-economy approach to modernization has finished paying off (which is, incidentally, explicitly described in their current constitution) clashes with the large body of powerful elites who've made vast personal fortunes off of what was supposed to be a temporary use of capitalist systems for the good of the socialist state. Unless the old line goes with a whimper there as well, which I suppose has to be considered.

Russia is a regional power, they are a nuclear great power for sure but that's about it. They don't have that much cultural, economic and military capital to throw around across the world, put it this way the USA can fuck up Russia ten ways sideways whilst Russia can only end humanity in response or muck about with an American proxy

Unless the power is literally powered by russian gas lol
