Trying out glasses, and I can't figure out which of these is best. Please vote!

I chose number one! "Fly the geek flag," as my dad said. Even though my mom and everybody else said they thought three was best.

The 'half-framed' #1s is my instinctive choice, although they can be prone to  easier damage.  (Depends if these ones are just clamped like Cs around Os, IYSWIM, or have a transparent 'chord' around the bottom of the lens, blending in but surrounding them.)

#2 (subtle under-lens frames, but still there) would work if you were worried about the points I made about damage, somewhat.

#3 looks Ok (similar frame thickness to current, slightly further away from "boy wizard" than now) and you obviously like it enough to give them serious consideration, but wouldn't be my own choice for me.  For what that's worth to you.

#4, ditto, you must like enough to consider. But, for myself, I'd reserve those frames for the tinted lenses of any prescription sunglasses I was going to get. Then they'd make me think 'aviator', or at least aspiring.  (But avoid mirrored lenses! Have you ever seen the film Cool Hand Luke? Probably not, but... well, that.)


I've heard it said that for a round face, narrow (i.e. short, but wide and squarish) lenses work best.  And I've gone this way  myself, by my own choice, for many a year now.  Like #s 1 an 2, generally, but perhaps ¾-height, in comparison to your choices.  It works for me, I feel, but then I've got a far older face, too. And, for all I know, it looks too much like 'aging hipster'.

I'd say number 1; they fit your face the best.

Hahaha! Four was just a joke really.

Story behind this: I want one, and am fine with two. My mom says they're too engineery. That makes me like them more. She insists that three looks much better. I get four just to see her reaction.

And I did notice that my current glasses do look like HP Lovecraft Harry Potter.

My mom even compared number one to Lockheed Martin. After looking it up, I failed to see how that was a con.

I'd say the glasses in the last picture go with your face best. They're somewhat in between Harry Potter and a wizkid look, in a positive way.
So try to get something that looks like your current glasses.
