I am the biggest noob possible (just dabbled a few hours tops), but i always loved to read the great succesion games stories. (Boatmurdered, drunk fortress, fail cannon)

So my idea would be to make a succession game for noobs like myself. It will probably go horribly wrong, but thats part of the fun. Would anyone be interested in it/would anyone want to participate?

If so/if not: Could you tell me ideas for improving this?

Hey, I searched up the other noob succession thingy and it seems to be dead, so in case this actually starts, I'm all up for the funzies.
I would consider myself not only noob, but also very bad. I tried for years to get actually decent at the game, but I just suck at it. Also, make sure to start out in an extremely hostile environment like I am doing!

Hmm. It's normally worked well for the succession line to have a few pros in it, to keep it from instantly falling into the ground. At least the first player should be merely inadequate, not woefully inadequate.

It's more fun to watch something struggle than to watch it die in a few milliseconds.

But filling the entire fort with magma isn't crazy if you have a good reason, such as seeing the faces on the gobbos(and then of course watching the faces burn off.)

I'd be willing to do this. I've finally gotten decent enough to understand the base game mechanics, nothing fancy like mine carts or magma pump stacks but I could hold my own.

Also, if this is going to happen, details would help. Such as which version of DF do you want to use, graphics packs (if any), utilities and at least a general idea for how turns will go would be helpful.

Always use LNP. Always. So I'd recommend waiting until the v.0.43.02 LNP is out.

LNP makes changing graphics incredibly easy. I vote for Pheobus, it's easy to read.Also use TWBT, it makes it a lot easier to read actual text.

I'm voting for all utilities being okay, save outright DFHack cheating. Visualizers are fine (e.g., Armok Vision and Stonesense), gameplay helpers and organizational aids are okay (like Dwarf Therapist), and autodump and other DFHack commands are okay (but not autodump destroy), since they're something you could do anyway if you had way too much time on your hands.
