Forcing DF to stop generating a world
« on: May 02, 2016, 10:53:10 pm »

I accidentally set my world to generate for 2500 years when I only wanted 1500. Around the 1010 mark, a year passes around every 10 minutes, so it's going to be aaaages before the world is complete.  It's working too slow for me to just press enter to stop world generation.

Push enter or escape and wait, it'll pause when the next year ticks forward (or the year after that).

It's always exactly 3 years after in my experience. I have to press enter on year 147 to stop it on year 150.

You can go into advanced world parameters and set the end year you want.

Edit: You might also have to change / nullify the check for beast deaths as this will automatically stop world generation after a threshold.
