Jane blinks lookingaway for a second before returning face still lightly blushing.
"Well my life was pretty good back in the United States I already told you I lived in Washington state near Seattle. My life was nice there rather peaceful not much crime plenty of people to play with and I was in love with sports I'd watch them for hours on the TV and join big bro in his practices and I'd always route him on in his baseball games eventually I managed to get into sports..msoccee tennis everything I loved sports and....well it was my life...I..I don't really know what to do anymore honestly...."

As he speaks, his ever-present grin fades somwhat for a few moments. "Had to drop my papers off at the nurse and talk about getting a prosthetic for my leg fitted. Truth be told the damn things are almost always more of a pain in the ass than they're worth, but I promised my parents I'd keep trying them."

"I-I'm sorry... It must be a very l-large inconvenience..." Colette seems surprisingly emphatic.

Kaoru waves his hand dismissively. "Ah, it's not that bad. Most of the work's not on my end, until it's time to put the thing on, anyway."

"That's so sad... I was crippled from birth, so I never really lost anything I already had because of it. How did you discover your arrhythmia ?" asks Ika with a emphasizing voice.

Kaoru shrugs. "Not often, no. But they knew I wouldn't do it if I wasn't told to."

Jane grows quiet for a few moments clearly not remembering the moment fondly.
I-I was with the track team after school billy, James and Ray were there and we were going to see who could beat the others score I felt off that day for some reason that I dident know at the time but...I couldn't just refuse my friends offer so...we raced and halfway through the second lap out of four I felt a....painful pulsing feeling where my heart was i tryed to keep running but it grew too much and I...remember screaming and clutching my chest crying as my friends came over not knowing what was happening... I passed out a few minutes later and woke up at the hospital..."

"O-oh, okay... I think I can understand how you feel."

Seeing the saddened expression of Jane, Ika feels like she made a mistake.

"Oh... I'm sorry for making you remember this terrible experience. Ah, and I still didn't tell you what is my affliction. I suffer from a lung malformation, making them smaller than usual. Because of this, I can't undertake exhausting activities, or I would risk collapsing from lack of oxygen, ending with a suffocation.

And I also have a ribcage malformation. Some thorn like osseous extensions that press on my heart. If it beats to fast, my heart hurts terribly, as if needles were stabbed in it."

The atmosphere doesn't seem to brighten.

Anyway, though, you said you had to organize your things, right? I'd offer to help, but I don't wanna be 'the pervy kid who snuck into the girl's dorms' right off the bat."

Kaoru waves, before sighing and rolling back in the direction of the dorm. He checks the clocks, wondering how long it wil be before orientation starts up again.
