A, A wild Askuzai horse woman crouching in the branches of a trees with a cross bow at the ready.

At first you thought it a trick of the light but now as moon shines down from a gap in the clouds, you can see her clearly standing in the tree branches.

Slowly you approach the woman, then -snap-, you tread on a stick.

In a blink she turns and levels the crossbow at you.
You halt as she stares at you before lowing her weapon.
"You aren't one of the bandits, Who are you? What are you doing here?" she whispers.

"I am Bekir.
I have come for revenge, now stand aside and let my axe taste blood tonight." you reply

With out a sound, she drops down from the tree her cloak billowing behind her.

She walks towards you slowly keep the cross bow ready at all times.

She is wearing a dirty linen shirt, and a pair of close-fitting deer skin pants with laces running up the side of each leg.

But it's her boots that you notice the most, there shaped to resemble horse hooves with a raised platform for her toes.
It least now you know what was up with the tails.

"Shyshel, Once Daughter of Maylara.
I to am here for revenge, as are you.
That makes friends for tonight, you have come alone?" she asks you

"Just me, do you have a plan?" you ask her point towards the camp.

"No plan, just wait and then.." She pulls a large hunting knife from her belt "..like a pig."

You sit in the tree beside Shyshel, waiting for the raiders to fall sleep.
The wait does at least let you get a better look at Shyshel.

She has a long plat of ungroomed ivory blond hair that hangs down to her ankles, and deep smouldering blue eyes.
Once she might of been considered attractive but now there's a large jagged scar that cuts across her left cheek and twists her lip.

You wait in the tree for at lest two hours until the camp at last falls silent.
Slowly you walk towards camp holding you're axe at the ready.
No one raider or prisoner is awake and all you can hear is there snores and your own foot steps.

You raise your axe high before smashing it down on.

A) The bandit chiefs
B) the chain hold prisoners.

The chiefs.  We're here for revenge, we'll deal with heroism later.

You stand over the bandit chef and slow you raise your axe for the kill.
Slamming the mighty blade down, the loud crack of splintering wood echoes and your blood runs cold.

You glance around the darkness looking for the ambushers that are surely moments away from you.
You are almost relived to see the chief crawl out from under his cloak, mouth a gasp in pain.
Wasteing no time you strike, hacking open his ribs with repeated savage blows.

"Die! Die knees like the dog you!" you shout exuberantly.

A woman leaps up from her sleep, wielding a long knife in each hand.
Screaming a warcry, she runs towards you slashing wildly with here knifes.

You parry one blade and she cuts you forearm open with the other.
By now she's so close that you can smell the stink of her breath.
You sweep her leg, knocking her to the ground, before delivering coup de grace to there head.

By now the rest of the bandits are up on there feet with blades drawn.
Wary you and your bloody axe they stand on the other side of fire.

"She just a woman! Slay the wore!" shouts a large beaded man.
A crossbow bolt flashes from the darkness and sinks into the bearded man's shoulder.
The bandits waver now that you are clearly not alone.

"Come on! fight me! you cowards!" you shout back at them as Shyshel steps in to the light beside you.
They come slowly now, unwilling to face the god this day.
A pair steps forwards, two men one with a shield and large dagger, the other behind him with a long spear.

Shyshel fire her crossbow again to no effect at the bolt  -thunk- in to the shield.
The spear man trusts and you jumps back to narrow avoid impalement.

With a shout, Shyshel leaps at the first man, the suddenness of her attack takes the man by surprise and her boot shatters shield, and knocks him to ground.

You waste no time grabbing the spear shaft and hacking it in half, the man turns flee like coward he is before you split him from crown collar bone.

As the man falls you turn to Shyshel, both her and the raider are grappling desperately, the man lays on top trying to force the blade down as Shyshel wildly claws at his face with her free hand.
You pull the man off her, holding his knife arm back in your powerful grasp as Shyshel plunges her own into his chest.
You turn to find that the sight of you towering over the mangled trio, with blood spattered axe in hand is enough for remaining bandits to take flight.

As you come down from the adrenalin high of combat, you start to feel as your injures start to hurt.
You scavenge the bodys of the dead and collect find coin and goods you find.

A) Free the prisoner and return to town in order to collect the bounty's on the bandits.

B) Continue on the path of the bandits, north and sell the prisoners as slaves

A Free the prisoners

You cut the bonds of the prisoners and tell them to get ready for travel back to town.

You see Shyshel and something you had thought it was a myth, but as Shyshel  stands there talking in the horse's ear as it horse nays back to her, the tales of Askuzai horse wishers start to seem far less fantastical than before.

You lash the dead bandits to the spare horses and head off towards town.
Shyshel rides along side you bareback and stirrup lees.

"Bekir, the road ahead is long do you mind if i ask you, what was it drove you to seek your revenge last night?" she asks you.
You fill her in on the death of your parents and events of yesterday.
"Avenged be for the next daybreak, you do them much honour with your swiftness.
So what will you do now?" she asks you.

"I have no idea, my home is ash and all that tied me to it is gone,
Perhaps i will look for my father."
"Eh? you said that your father was killed?"
"It's a long story.."
"The road is long, so please tell me..."

--------------
Later as the sun rise, you reach the town of Munstandel.

The town magistrate looks tired as you collect the bounty's on the slain bandits.
With a large purse of coins on your belt, you find some lodgings at the Inn and quickly fall asleep.

The midday bell's rudely awakes you from your slumber and you decide to:

I love this, it's like a mashup of Xena Warrior Princess and Conan Da Barbarian.

Training is the best idea, we're not actually a skilled warrior yet, let's rectify that.

I love this, it's like a mashup of Xena Warrior Princess and Conan Da Barbarian.

Training is the best idea, we're not actually a skilled warrior yet, let's rectify that.

You decide to find some one to help train in the arts of war.
A long night is spent drinking in the bar, looking for a instructor.

After you crack a few head for there insults, an ageing one eyed warrior inductances himself as Borzak the Gray.

"So you want to become a mighty warrior, don't they all.
Well i can't teach you the deadly art of the Themiscyrain war-dancer or raging power and furry of Codanovian bear warrior.
but the basics of every fighter the spear the axe, the sword and the shield that i can do.
if you have the coin then i will train you and your friend."
You agree to have him be your instructor, and drink long in to the night with him listening to his tales of days gone by...

You awake late next morning, and quickly rush off to find Shyshel in time to start training.
Shyshel is asleep when you find her, you try to shake her awake but she just groans under the sheets.

You don't take no for an answer, so you grab a jug of war and pull the sheets off her.
You splash water over Shyshel the barmaid and the stable boy, drenching all three's naked body's.
"Shyshel get up, come on we're both late already." you tell her as she ring out her wet hair.

The training is simple, just a mix of near endless drills and sparring as slowly you become a practised fighter.

You tired at the end of the first day when Shyshel arrives with your horse.

"Now that Borzak is finished, you can learn to ride."
"But i can ride fine." you confused by her actions.

"You call that riding!? you don't ride at all.
Sit in the seat thing and lead the horse like it's blind a man Yes.
But rideing is what i will teach you." she insists, passing you the reins.

You spend the hours until nightfall in saddle rideing cross country.

And that is the patten for the next two weeks, the days spent training and rideing with the nights spent on drink and song.
By the time you finish you haven't learnt any skills but your much better at fighting over all.

The daybreaks and you find your purse empty of coin, and that means that your are out of mead, meat or ale.
You chew over a mouth full of thick-cut bacon and ponder what to do about your lack of money.

You have heard that fighting has broken out between the kings of the Cassiterides and the Vaalbara tribes men on the boarders.
The weaker cassiterides are hungry for sell sword's to fill there ranks.

but you have also heard of a man, Udin that seeks brave men to join him on a voyage to Ocia.
Traders say that the coast of Ocia is littered with stone pyramids, surely be some wealth with in them.

Mercenary work is reliable work, let's go with that.

It is said that Endless money forms the sinews of war, and you plan to fill your purse with gold.
If the Cassiterides king seek a blade's for hire then why not your axe?

After gathering your things, you set off with Shyshel by your side, on the way to the Cassiterides.
Rideing westward in warm spring days, you make good time on the journey.

At last after a week of rideing, the great Cassiteride stronghold called "the Wolf Pillars" rises in to view.
Well the locals call it a stronghold, but in truth it's little more than three signal towers and wooden fence between them.
Still this is where king Marchan has planted his banner, it here that you've come to enlist in his army.

You stable your horses and enter the wooden long house at the centre of the keep.
Inside the dark and smokey hall, there are dozen armed men and women.
It's the strange mix of people you have ever seen, killers and sell sword drawn from all four corners of world.
Fur covered Codanovian wild men sit next to Sabines in mail and silk.

You find a place for your self by the table and sevent places a warm bowl of stew and a lump of bread in front you.
Both hungy you eat you fill as you wait for a messenger to arrive.

To pass the time you play dice and soon you are good friends with:
A) a Volscian Warrior Maiden, covered in the marks of ritual scarification and tattooing.
B) a beard Codanovian axe thrower.
C) a massive Salassi hammer man.
D) Sleep, you're far to tired for dice.

Finally the king's messenger arrives and he start to organize the gathered mercenary's.

You find your self assigned to:
A) The Feet, you're in the light cavalry.
B) The Body, you're in the infantry.
C) The Fist, you're part of the chosen heavy infantry.
C) The bodyguard of the kings younger sister.
