Chapter IV-2: Duel of the Runner UpsTeam DeathmatchPart I: Teamwork in DrovesChapala, Jalisco, MexicoMidday, Sunny, 7/23/2016 The first one to act in what was sure to become a chaotic day in the abandoned town of Chapala was Fallacy of Urist, who looked at everyone involved, besides his allies, with a manic gaze like a berserker in a fearsome rage. Turning on his heel, he tried to run away from the people, where no one could see him. [10] He ducks into a nearby building, which is a storefront with shelves upon shelves of booze. Lying prone against the wood floor, laying behind the counter, he could tell that no one had noticed on instinct alone. [+2 to Stealth] Following close behind was his Viking companion, Vegar Trygstad, who crouched behind the counter as well. Mustering forth his ability to call upon cartoons and anime of an Italian cartoon block, he focused in to try and obtain a certain item: a Power Ring of Willpower [1] However, his gaze was broken away as the commotion of the other Warriors springing forth distracted him. "
Hah! No matter. he though, as he tried again, this time to obtain a suit of powered armor. [3] He gets as far as conjuring the right gauntlet before his fragile warrior's concentration is snapped away again. But this is still a triumph. With a sigh as to the loss of his power to redirect projectiles, PirateJoe nevertheless perked back up as the sun bore down on him. Though, the reasoning behind that may have been less of his purpose, and more of the fact that the wax doll of Elvis was busy doing all his Elvis-isms. "
Uh-huh, baby! Synth-Elvis has returned to the building for his sandwich!" he says, posing like...
well, Elvis. Turning his attention to the higher priority, the Synth-hating animal tamer Dolosus Doleus, he breathed in slowly. Time seemed to slow around Dolosus as Joe took aim with his service revolver. [1 v 5] Sadly, even with the advantage a slower time-frame would allow, Joe still aims to the right slightly too far. Firing, he not only misses Dolosus, but he helplessly watches as the bullet smacks into, and swiftly bounces off of, the elephant's hide. Dolosus turns with a murderous glare as time returns to normal.
Despite the fact that some moron just shot his elephant in the thigh, Dolosus Doleus wasn't one to stray from the plan. Eyeing the building Fallacy went into, Dolosus swiftly climbs up and mounts the elephant, preparing to trample anyone who discovered the hiding place.
While still relatively Green, Failbird
did have some experience under his belt from the battle before hand. He raced to his car, starting the ignition and revving the automobile up. Pleased, he walked back to his horse and smacked it, intending to get it to trample PirateJoe, who sat there stunned as smoke left the barrel of his gun. [7] The horse got the right idea and sped off towards Joe, galloping towards him. Meanwhile, Failbird dove back into his car, intending to pin the Pro-Herzog members in. [9 v 8][2] The horse barrels towards Joe, who reacts just fast enough to not be crushed. He is, however, clipped by the animal, and is sent sprawling to the ground. Meanwhile, Failbird drives to the Pro-Herzog, only for his foot to miss the break. Overshooting, he finally hits it just in time to avoid a crash, but he's too late as they begin to scatter.
Huddling together, GigaGiant tells the rest of his team about an idea he has upon being given sight over his opponents' abilities. "
Okay, so that Fallacy guy, right? With that ability o' his, he can conjure up some powerful stuff. Dangerous stuff. So, we gotta take him down. Here's th' plan.". Explaining his suggestion, the rest agree as Person hands over his pickaxe. Firstly, however, they have to
find Fallacy. [4 v 1+2] Some subtle traces of footprints lead to a bar, and so Person and his associate Michael Esping raise their guns and Prepare to fire when they see him.
Picking up on the idea, NRDL rushes over to the storefront, only to feel the earth rumble beneath his feet. Turning to his right, he suddenly sees an Elephant barreling towards him! [7 v 7] Just in time, NRDL rushes into the store as the Elephant charges past. Looking around the store, he tries to pinpoint Fallacy's precise location. [4 v 6+2] However, due to the angle Fallacy presses himself into, NRDL makes out that someone is behind the counter. He does not realize it's Fallacy, however, as his suspicions are seemingly granted by only The Viking, who stands before NRDL with an angry glare.
Rushing forward to aim NRDL, GigaGiant hauls ass to the bar and rushes in, seeing the Viking. Before aiding, he himself searches for Fallacy. [6 v 4+2] Judging by the Viking's position, he does deduce that Fallacy is close, but he doesn't actually spot him. Shrugging it off, he rushes towards the Viking with the pickaxe in hand. [10+2 (Physical Strength) v 9] Suddenly, he slams through the helmet and flesh of Vegar, stabbing the blade of the pickaxe straight through his cheek, the force popping teeth and tendons apart. Vegar is stunned and stumbles about as the blade is pulled out of his cheek.
Again, Vegar is stunned. The force of the blow winded him, and so he stumbles, seemingly drunk off the sudden pain.
"
Wanna do something with us, good sir?" comes the nasally voice of Wax-Lincoln, directed towards PirateJoe.
