In other news, it looks like the article 50 negotiations have already begun (and yes, I'm aware they haven't officially started); Schultz has already said they're not letting the UK back into the single market :V

Definitely looking like the negotiations on that front are going to be a hell of a thing.

I always said and will always say that upper age limit for voting is necessary. Old people shouldn't decide fate of their grandchildren.
I know! Democracy is so damn inconvenient, isn't it?
Democracy is great. Universal suffrage isn't

Ah, so only your voters are allowed to vote

Democracy at its finest

This is especially rich as earlier on people were so ardently in favour of universal suffrage, even going so far as to say the worst thing you can do in democracy is deny someone the vote

How quickly the tune changes

Scotland and quite possible Northern Ireland are going to leave, and it's not the UK without them.

Haha Northern Ireland won't leave. Union with Ireland has been suggested by - you guessed it - Gerry Adams, but this is unlikely. The vote roughly ran through community back grounds, with Nationalists voting in and Unionists voting out - it'll be hard to get a good movement going when people are still fairly evenly split. Many unionists voted to remain in the EU, but they'd sooner shoot themselves than join Ireland.

Indeed. An upper age limit on parenting should also be imposed, as it's obvious that older people are incapable of making responsible decisions that effect their charge's well being.

Do not worry, Comrade. The Voter's Information Board shall remind you to vote correctly on the day, and they will keep a close eye on the voting booth to make sure no "irregularities" occur.

You are saying that to a wrong person. I am not very "democratic" (read not a liberal) and don't think that everyone should have same set of rights.

PS. I enjoy the results of the Referendum but highly doubt that Breexit will happen because politically and economically active part of population doesn't want it to happen.

...why not?

EDIT: I mean this, the only reason I can think of is 'I don't like their opinions'

There's also the option that the people are mentally ill and incapable of rational decision making. Pretty sure most nations don't allow the clinically insane to vote.

So if this leads to a chain reaction dissolution of EU and Trump wins in USA, are we going to have WW III in the next decade or two? The global political trends sure seem to be heading towards less stability, but how unstable will it get?

I'd just like to quickly remind any disillusioned pro-Remain Brits here to double check and see if you have any grandparents, living or dead, who were born in Scotland. That information may come in handy at some point in the future.

Friendly reminder about old people.
You have to accept that what happened happened and be happy that we goe to see what happens to the UK after leaving the EU.
It's basically experimentation on a live subject Mengele style but i doubt any statistic prediction or forecast will be as accurate as simple observation of how brits cope with it.
Who knows maybe it will be even beneficial.

Meanwhile I'm enjoying new spending power in Oxford; I can save $5 on what would otherwise be a $45 meal.
How do you spend $45 on a meal?  Wait, which dollar? Or is it the total for a family of four?

30 GBP amounts to about $45 pre-Brexit conversion, $40 post-Brexit.
If I spend a tenner, I'm splashing out...  I suspect that means more about me, though.

We've got a world with China rising, Russia rearming, and America on the wane. We're looking at a real war within two decades unless something out of left field occurs.

If all that happens within the next decade or two, sense will have flown off and started a career breakdancing at the Lagrange point. Any predictions made now would be worthless for this hypothetical world of fat beats and nonsense.
