Woah, awesome thread

I...err, would like to put mine in a spoiler request. Unsure why. Feels a bit more intentional knowing that one has to click to see what the request is, I guess? So many things to ask but anyway.

I'd like to ask a prayer for a friend. He's overseas and...basically he has issues with friendships and what I guess are general social skills. He's not that expressive, as far as my observations go--and what I would just like is cooperation and patience. He would really like a friend but it doesn't seem like he's willing to ask others to help him (or to ask aid and work with it possibly). Sometimes, he's gone into escapism because of issues on his part and doesn't react well when I and my other friends try to help him; he's got bad experiences before he could know real experiences sometimes, so it...has become difficult. Especially when there's the idea that he's not believing in help and believes more into that escapism. Leaving it intentionally vague here other than that I can't physically support him--other than be glad that there is these technology that enables international communication.

If you or others could pray for his well-being and emotional growth, and his family, I would heavily appreciate it. I'd love it if he found these things himself than hearing about it from others, too.

There's a number of different viewpoints on the matter which would be more appropriate to discuss in the religion thread.
In my view prayer is a good thing to do because it relieves the stress of having to deal with something on our own. When we can say, "this is in God's hands", it lightens the burden, and puts us in a better position to deal with hardships.
Actual intercession would be a miracle, and miracles are miracles because they don't happen every day. Expecting a miracle is missing the point of prayer, but it certainly helps when there's hope.
