Heavy tank with sloped armor and two towers, a punchy 45mm and a really hurty 76,2mm. A 12.7mm machine gun can punch through very light armor such as the top armor.

Tank modifications:
A new workshop or upgrade to the tank modification workshop: Tank mod 2.0
This would allow you to do the following:
Granatewerfer 34/36/42 and portable mortars in general:
Portable mortars: attach one to a tank for a single use shot at the top armor from medium range (not close, not far, just medium range with the +4 difficulty mod)
Similar thing with rocket launchers: strap a katyusha onto a BT8. Although weight may be an issue, leading to...
Disarming of a tank: If you have old and redundant models of a tank, or just want to spice things up or free up room you can remove towers off tanks.
Example: Removing four of the T35's turrets would free up enough weight to make it handle off-roads just a little easier. Removing the two machinegun turrets alone would help.
Example 2: The Americans have the T34 Calliope launcher atop some Shermans. Tell me you wouldn't love a little rocket duel between a T34 Calliope and a T34 + Katyusha (I won't believe you XD).
Engine transplants: These would work in two ways
Swap engines around between two tanks.
If room has been freed up, simply inserting another engine in.
To limit the OP of this workshop, it would cost $2000 to buy and each operation would also cost enough to make you think twice before modifying things. Weapon and engine modified tanks are warranty-voided (increased repair cost) and life insurance voided (Crews in this tank require being paid (in advance) per match.). These voidings would go in the quirks of a tank.
Extreme example: T35 with four towers removed, leaving the one with the artillery function remaining. The freed-up space and weight goes into better and more numerous engines, nulling its 'I don't want to get my tracks dirty' quirk.
Russian tradition suggestion names: Not one step back! May the ghost of Stalin guide our shots. Promised freedom from the Gulag. Mobilise everythin!g
