Tankery II

Hello i don't know if you remember this since it was years ago that i gmed this game.

The First Madcap Run

Having put down all these Options lets get to the actual game itself. Tankery is basically based off the anime Girls und Panzer. WAIT. Don't leave yet. The anime has nothing to do here except deliver us the basic setting.

Basically what all of this is about is a sport where opposing teams of tankcrews try to shoot the shit out of eachother. The winner is whoever is left standing.

While the anime was pretty safe about this (somehow nobody got ever injured) this will be a bit more of a bloodsport. You will represent various University/School Teams vying for victory in these battles.

Victorious teams get extra points after each tournament and the loser gets some too. At the end of the season the winner gets a 5000 Point prize to buy himself the nice stuff while the rest gets some 1000 points.

Each of you starts with 1000 points that you can invest in Tanks. Later on you can also invest points into Crews, Training Facilities and other fancy stuff. For the beginning however i will generate crews for your tanks.

Available are only Tanks from World War II because otherwise we end up with a gazillion of them. Initially you will have relatively (RELATIVELY) few options to choose from...thats still around twenty tanks or so. As the Game progresses more and more tanks become available for exceedingly prohibitive costs.

A note at the End: I am no specialist on tanks i just go with the Stats given to me by Wikipedia and work these into Game Stats. If you find wrong data, feel free to tell me and give me sources/info for improvements, i try to stay close to what i have, but some of the info is added based on similiar models or what would (propably) make sense.

Tanks
German Models

Panzer II Ausf. Luchs
The German Model, it was the Main Battle Tank during the Poland and France Invasion during the Second World War. Laughable Thin Plating and a 2cm Flak-Cannon as Main Gun, makes the Panzer II pretty weak chested. However his Reliability, his relatively small size and its Speed and manouverability makes it a Good Scout Tank and perfect for City Fights.

Points: 75
Speed: 6
Manouverability: 75,2
Front: 30mm
Sides: 20mm
Back: 20mm
Ground: 10mm
Top: 13mm
Main Gun: KwK 38 (2cm)
Penetration: (20mm/15mm/9mm/-)
Range: 150km

Quirks:
Cozy-Up

Panzer 38(t)
A Czechoslowakian Model, it is cheap, it is reliable and fast. Its a Light(or very light Tank, depending on who you ask).

Points: 100
Speed: 4,5
Manouverability: 55,5
Front: 25mm
Sides: 15mm
Back: 15mm
Ground: 8mm
Top: 10mm
Main Gun: KwK 38 (3,7cm)
Penetration: (36mm/31mm/24mm/-)
Range: 250km

Quirks:
Plating is riveted. In case of a hit there is a chance that crewmembers get injured even without a penetrating hit.
Has an Indirect Fire Mode.
Cozy-Up

Panzer III Ausf. L
The Panzer III is mostly known as basic chassis for the far more successfull StuG III. Anyhow jus tbecause the StuG was far more successfull it should not be neglected.

Especially Ausführung L was build with the Long KwK 39 (5cm) which was semi sucessfull in penetrating Armor. As Medium Tank the Panzer III however can't compare with the Superior Panzer IV.

Points: 200
Speed: 4
Manouverability: 53,5
Front: 50mm + 20mm (a second plating in front of the frontal plating)
Sides: 30mm
Back: 50mm
Ground: 30mm
Top: 10mm
Main Gun: KwK 39 (5cm)
Penetration: (69mm/59mm/37mm/-)
Range: 175km (road) /100km (offroad)

Quirk:
Cozy-Up

StuG III
The Sturmgeschütz was cheaper, smaller, better plated and easier to produce than the Panzer III. Its gun was superior and coudl be used for artillery and breaking bunkers. But it was not as manouverable and the whole tank had to be turned around to aim at something.

Points: 300
Speed: 4
Manouverability: 52,6
Front: 80mm
Sides: 30mm
Back: 50mm
Ground: 15mm
Top: 15mm
Main Gun: StuK 40 (7,5cm)
Penetration: GrPa. 38 HL/C (120 mm/110 mm/100 mm/-),PzGr. 39 (106 mm/98 mm/91 mm/-)
Range: 155km (road)

Quirks:
GrPa. 38: A Heavy Shell. the Granatpatrone 38 is able to pierce pretty thick armour even at vast distances. Sadly ou only have 5 of those per Match.

Panzer IV Ausf. H
After the Tiger, the Panzer IV is along with the StuG one of the most famous and important German Tanks. As a Medium Tank he is superior to the T-34 Mod.43, the Sherman M4A3 and the Valentine Mk.X. On top of that with 8500 build Tanks it is the most produced German Tank.

Points: 300
Speed: 4
Manouverability: 52
Front: 80mm
Sides: 30mm
Back: 20mm
Ground: 10mm
Top: 20mm
Main Gun: KwK 40 (7,5cm)
Penetration: (98mm/90mm/82mm/-)
Range: 200km (road) /150km (offroad)

Quirks:
Plate Skirts - It is harder to shoot off the Panzer IV's tracks.
Thin Tracks - Due to it's thin tracks the Panzer IV has the problem that sometimes the tracks jump off in particular impassable surroundings.

Soviet Models

BT8
The BT-8 is a Cavalry Tank and has not only high speeds but his Main Gun also Packs a Punch. However his Plating is terribly weak and even Light Tanks and Scout Tanks can penetrate it.

Points: 150
Speed: 5,5
Manouverability: 83,6
Front: 22mm
Sides: 6mm
Back: 6mm
Ground: 6mm
Top: 6mm
Main Gun: 45mm Mod.32
Penetration: (50mm/42mm/30mm/-)
Range: 200km (road) /150km (offroad)

Quirks:
Unreliable: BT-8 Tanks were known to have many malfunctions
Cozy-Up

T-35
The T-35 is a rarity, with 5 towers and a crew of 11 it was considered  utterly to unwieldy for actual combat. Not ot mention although it had quite the armarment it was to thinly plated.

Points: 400
Speed: 2,5
Manouverability: -
Front: 30mm
Sides: 11mm
Back: 11mm
Ground: 11mm
Top: 11mm
Main Gun: 7,62cm Howitzer
Secondary Guns: 2x 45mm Mod.32
Penetration: Secondary Guns: (50mm/42mm/30mm/-), (98mm/90mm/82mm/50mm)
Range: 70km

Quirks:
Overcrewed: You need two Tank Crews to man the damn thing
The Many-Headed Hydra: Due to it's size, crew and many-headedness making a T-35 immobile is quite the task.
I don't want to make my tracks dirty!: Due to the sheer weight of the t-35 and the (in comparison) small engine its impossible to mvoe it offroads without causing some major problems for the vehicle.

T-28
The T-28 is a Medium Tank, with 3 towers and a Crew of 6 it is the small brother of the T-35 although significantly more useful.

Points: 200
Speed: 4
Manouverability: 58
Front: 30mm
Sides: 20 mm
Back: 20 mm
Ground: 15mm
Top: 10mm
Main Gun: M27/32 76,2 mm
Penetration: (98mm/90mm/82mm/-)
Range: 220km

T34/76
The most produced Russian Tank defeated the German Tankforce through sheer mass. Due to the simplicity of its maintenance and the low difficulty in producing them the T-34 could be produced en masse similiarly to the Sherman.

Points: 300
Speed: 4,7
Manouverability: 66
Front: 45mm
Sides: 45mm
Back: 40mm
Ground: 15mm
Top: 16mm
Main Gun: 76,2-mm-Cannon L/41
Penetration: (108mm/100mm/92mm/-)
Range: 455/255
Quirks:
Gear Problems - The T-34's gears are known to malfunction if put under high stress.

SU-85
The Su-85 is a Russian Tankhunter. It's basically the Russian Equivalent to the German StuG, although its plating is weaker and it's cannon doesn't quite pack the punch.
Points: 250
Speed: 4,7
Manouverability: 64
Front: 45mm
Sides: 14mm
Back: 14mm
Ground: 20mm
Top: 14mm
Main Gun: 85-mm-Flak D-5S L/53
Penetration: (100mm/90mm/85mm/-)
Range: 455/255
Quirks:
Gear Problems - Being a variant of the T-34 the SU-85 has the same gear problems...

British Models

Valentine MK VII
Being used as Infantry Tank (A Heavy Slow Infantry Support vehicle) the Valentine is the most produced British Tank.

Points: 150
Speed: 2,7
Manouverability: 39,35
Front: 60mm
Sides: 60mm
Back: 60mm
Ground:8mm
Top: 8mm
Main Gun: QF 2-pounder (40 mm)
Penetration: (49mm/37mm/27mm/-)
Range: 140km

Quirks:
Cozy-Up

Crusader Mk I
Used mostly in the African Front, the Crusader Mk II while being equal to the german tanks was despised by the tank crews. Its performance against Italian Tanks however was very good.

Points: 200
Speed: 4,3
Manouverability: 60,6
Front: 40mm
Sides: 40mm
Back: 40mm
Ground:7mm
Top: 7mm
Main Gun: QF 2-pounder (40 mm)
Penetration: (49mm/37mm/27mm/-)
Range: 322km

Quirks:
Overheating - the Crusader tends to overheat and malfunction in Desert Areas.

Cromwell Mk VII
the Continuation of the Crusader Model, the Cromwell is  more mobile and has an overall better performance than the Crusader, although it is still not up to par with German Tanks. However its extreme Mobility make the Cromwell one of the fastest WWII tanks.

Points: 300
Speed: 6,4
Manouverability: 87,4
Front: 76mm
Sides: 40mm
Back: 30mm
Ground:8mm
Top: 8mm
Main Gun: 6-Pounder (75 mm)
Penetration: (73mm/62mm/41mm)
Range: 322km

Quirks:
Too Fast for his own good - the Comwells speed is too fast for its tracks and when it drives at full speed there is a chance it amy lose them.

American Model(s)

Sherman M4A1

Almost every other American Tank is based on the Sherman Tank. It is the most produced tank in the American Military.

Points: 150
Speed: 4
Manouverability:53,4

Back: 38mm
Ground:12,7mm
Top: 19mm
Main Gun: 7,5 cm Cannon

Points: 75
Speed: 4,2
Manouverability:50
Front: 30 mm

Now updated with French and Swedish Tanks...man that was hard to find information for many of them...especially the Stridsvagn's, still not sure if i made the m/42 too weak. Its cannon, depending on ammunition can have a penetration between 41 - 100 mm. I went for now with the weaker version...guess im gonna upgrade it in later seasons to the 70/75 and 100 mm penetration versions.

I think I actually still have my proposal for St. Etiennes somewhere around here, actually.  With actual French tanks to choose from, though, I may as well give it another go. ^_^

Mid-season Mid-game upgrade kits?  Could work well, and not just for the Swedes. ^_^

((IRC is quite simple. You should be able to pick it up in like 5 minutes, especially if you have someone to walk you through it. If you guys like, you could set up an irc log then just link that in the thread for observers though.))

((Eh, still more comfortable with PBP. I'm not saying I can't/won't do it if it wins or anything like that :P.))

Alright! Updated! Generally high Gunnery, low leadership. I can work with that.

Do we designate a leader from the Crew given, or is the Leader a separate character?
