Question: Renaming worldgen constructions.
« on: February 25, 2016, 07:54:54 pm »

So, I've been thinking about attempting a little (mostly cosmetic) conversion of Dwarf Fortress into a wild west simulator, but the naming of certain things in genned worlds bothers me- chiefly, medieval things like mead halls. Would there be a way to, for example, change the name "mead hall" to "Governor's Mansion" or something like that. How would one go about doing that?

You may have to use the same framework as the Russian and Spanish translation, also used in Masterwork to rename Miller to Archaeologist.

Also, you can change the words humans use for their individual constructions (libraries, mead halls, etc.) by changing their word files or symbol files, if you want to make the Governor's Mansion have a name befitting a governor's mansion.

I try to play with naming in my worlds too.
