I believe the turn system follows the "whenever the gm decides to post" method.

I think they mean, wait until at least a few of the gods have posted, or a set amount of time, and then post a turn with everyone's actions at once, instead of responding to each action as you read it. that's the typical rtd method, and since you declared in the op that each turn is 1000 or 100 years, it keeps various gods from being inactive for 7,000 years in game while one god is active.

At least, that's how I think they meant.
