Weirdly enough its actually easy enough to spawn enough megabeasts to wipe out pretty much every civilisation, enough that when making an adventurer you have no specific place to pick from and start in a cave somewhere.

But somehow the game still thinks there are historic figures around and keeps the age at 'Age of Myth'. Not sure what's up with that.

I think that's because the Age of Emptiness only shows up when there are no powers in the world. Same with the Age of Death.

I believe the Age of Myth is based on the fraction of beasts still alive, and overrides the other names that might apply.  You'd need a way for the beasts to kill each other off that works in worldgen.  Eliminating random beasts would be a start, then some kind of deadly-to-themselves interaction with a delay so that the last two can kill each other.

Yeah, it's true. I've tried starting world's without beasts and it proceeds to the Golden Age or something, then in the 99% of the worlds it proceeds to the Goblin Age.

I'm guessing that making a very frequently appearing megabeast with a maxage has been tried already?

The problem with that is Forgotten Beasts. You don't see FB/Megabeast battles very often because the FBs live underground; but they still count towards Age of Myth.

They actually don't. You can get the Golden Age at year 1 by simply having no megabeasts, and FBs are still generated then.

Yeah, but seems that forgotten beasts doesn't count. AFAIK, only megabeasts and titans count (I don't know about semimegabeasts).

Semimegabeasts count for the age of legends and heroes, I think, but not myth. Unsure.
