Strange visitor...
« on: February 04, 2016, 10:32:24 pm »

So, there's an elven woodcrafter visiting my tavern. They've been there for a couple of years at this point, but they have made no petition for long-term residence. They are simply listed as "traveler" rather than bard, or scholar, etc. Has anybody else had a visitor like this that just sort of hangs around and never leaves?

I have a few suspicious visitors who are not like the others.  My "Traveler" has a hidden inventory, much like an invading goblin does.  I expect him to pull some levers at some inopportune time.

Do visitors even have that potential yet? I don't recall Toady mentioning it, but spies and saboteurs would probably be something he'd be interested in adding at some point. I imagine it would work similar to how vampires can hide among your dwarves.

Hidden inventory?

Its a feature. Impregnating booze is a planned tech tree for dwarves and this is a sneak peek at it.

You can always see inventory, even of invaders.

Yes, could you explain this further? As far as I know you can always see a creature's inventory. If the visitor's inventory is completely empty, it's possible that all of their clothes rotted away and they are now running around in the nude...  :o

UPDATE: all of the elf's clothing has rotted away and now they are nude save for a coating of louse person ichor and their own tears. Still no sign of them petitioning to join or leaving.
