I start looking for the "Monolith Hotel".
You walk through the markets in search of this hotel and come to a dead end. Which would be fine and all if it weren't for the fact that some asshole sealed off the exit with barrier tape that reads as
CRIME SCENE - DO NOT ENTER. Again this would be only a slight inconvenience, except for some reason you find that you are unable to over or under it, plus it's remarkably sturdy. You are able to slowly remove it, but unfortunately, you aren't alone. A Nightmare has dropped down from above
A tumorous maw lined with countless human eyes
(you know Ludwig the Accursed's second mouth? It's like that). Its body is almost entirely clockwork and canine in form, with a turn-key on its back that seems to be constantly rewound through supernatural forces. To be honest, it still looks quite weak. Mainly because eyes aren't the most effective bodypart for mauling people.
[[Stress: 1 = 1]]However, it probably also isn't what sealed you in here in the first place, which is an issue. You could probably breach through that tape and make a run for it, but that could be quite tricky.
[[Stress: 5 = 5]]Grappling hook's an option too. Though who knows what awaits above you atop those stalls.
[[Stress: 3 = 3, requires at least one Hangover]]Or you could try to suddenly develop superpowers and run through a wall or something.
[[Stress: 4 = 4, requires at the usage of at least one Impulse die]]Janet makes a face at the water, and moves it to the side without drinking any. She extends her hand to Jacklyn. "I'ts a pleasure, Jacklyn. So, what brought you here? To this bar, I mean."
She firmly shakes it. Her guitar case is gone.
"Here? I work here. Pretty much live here actually. I do surgery and that sort of thing, was fresh out of med school before I ended up here, you see. It's safe here, safer than a lot of places - this place is under Curfew control, they're kinda like a weird Cinderella-Lovecraft themed Mafia. So all the Nightmares here either work for it."
She gestures to the reptilian Nightmares.
"Or are protected by it."
She gestures at the barkeeper.
"They're fine with humans, 'pparently they're lead by one, that's why. Well that's my spiel, what else you wanna know? Bet you've got plenty of questions, right?"
She sighs.
"Okay fine. A whiskey, put it on my tab."
A whiskey is served.
"Please don't drink too much."
