quick dorfhack help

I have a forgotten beast in my caverns, but it spawned on top of a tree and cant get down. I tried the extirpate command in dorfhack but could'nt get it to work, I want that tree gone so I can have my soldiers kill it. Whats the correct command?

Dont knwo about the command you are talking about, but you can always spawn some magma above the tree. Look up spawn liquid on the dfhack readme!

Why not just have your woodcutter cut the tree down?

Wound up taking that approach. Tried the magma option and started a roaring underground fire that left the tree untouched.
By an odd twist of fate, the woodcutter got away scott free, while half my finest squad is literally rotting away in the hospital. The FB was a dust spawning type.
That is one lucky lumberjack.
