When you formed your spirit you did not follow the standard line of thought in the Martial World, and thus did not condense a weapon, a deadly beast, or armor. No, you condensed your spirit into that of a plain loincloth believing that you have no need of a Spirit in the form of armor, and the progress was a success though the end result was not a spirit that granted you power instead forcing you to rely on your own strength.
After that you spent nearly two decades traveling through the Holstice Kingdom combating peak Spirit Creation cultivators, and even early Soul Fusion cultivators without even a hint of hesitation leading your name to spread far and wide among the cultivators of the Kingdom. You were even lucky and brave enough to cultivate to the last stage of the Bronze God's technique as you charged into the midst of thunderstorms, and used the storms' lightning to refine your body allowing you to break through into the Divine God Bronze Layer causing your skin to stop the blades of your opponents with ease.
However as the years went by you found your cultivation stalling, and in the end found yourself stuck at the bottleneck into the next stage unable to step into the Soul Fusion stage which led to a wave of pity from those you had made friends with and taunts from those you'd angered. It was after nearly eighteen years of countless attempts at smashing through the Soul Fusion bottleneck that you decided to return home, perhaps something there will allow you to make that final step to break through and even if you can't you decide to setup a Sect. The Ashwood Expanse had long since mostly forgotten the Martial Way, you might as well reintroduce it and allow the Martial Way to flourish again.
When you returned to the Ashwood Expanse you looked for a place to setup your Sect, you found ... (What terrain features? Mountain, ravine, etc.)
You set out to recruit disciples based on ... (What criteria do you want to take in disciples based on? Take all of them, test them for something, etc.)

Holstice Kingdom - This is the nation that surrounds most of the Ashwood Expanse, it is home to countless Sects and martial Clans making it a true Martial Way country. Respected for your determination, and unyielding nature.
Foundation Layer - The Foundation Layer is the starting point of the Martial Way and every mortal is born at the lowest point of this layer, all they need to reach the peak is to strengthen their body. Foundation Layer is split up into several stages; Flesh Refinement, Bone Refinement, Meridian Cleansing, Dantian Gateway, and Qi Gathering. Once a mortal has progressed through the first four, and manages to accumulate Qi in the Dantian they break through to the second stage.
Those of the Foundation Layer are considered mortals, and generally have a lifespan of seventy or eighty years.
Spirit Formation - Spirit Formation is the second stage of cultivation, and is considered the point where a person becomes a true Martial cultivator in the eyes of the Martial Way. Spirit Formation is all considered a singular stage with one goal, the formation of a Spirit Root within the dantian by compressing the key within. While the stage itself is simple the end result can have a myriad of forms determined by the quality of the Root formed.
Those of the Spirit Formation stage can generally live up to one hundred.
Spirit Creation - Spirit Creation is the third stage of cultivation. The point of Spirit Creation is to nourish the Spirit Root formed in the previous stage, and use it to form a true Spirit in the dantian greatly raising a Martial Cultivators strength. Every Spirit is forged based on a cultivator's desires and understanding the Martial Way, and thus there are countless Spirits that can be formed with a myriad of effects. This is split into the Spirit Egg, Fragmented Spirit, Incorporeal Spirit, and Solidified Spirit layers.
Spirit Egg is the act of nourshing the Spirit Root and forging it into something that you can use to form your Spirit.
Fragmented Spirit is a stage where you have perfected the spirit egg, and then shatter it to reform the pieces into your desired Spirit.
Incorporeal Spirit is the stage where you've managed to gather the pieces into the shape of what you wish your spirit to be, but it has yet to be refined by Qi. While cultivators at this stage can use their Spirit it's power is far from its complete form and the risk destroying it in the process.
Solidifed Spirit is the stage where you've refined your Spirit to the utmost, and must now slowly refine the connection between you and it. At this stage a cultivator can make full use of their spirit for short periods of time to activate it's effects without any downsides.
Those of Spirit Creation stage can live up to one hundred and ten years.
Soul Fusion - Soul Fusion is the fourth stage of cultivation, and is the process of fusing one's soul with the Spirit in their dantian to allow them to live after their physical body is destroyed. This stage is the true dividing line on the path of the Martial Way, those who get stuck here unable to meld their soul and Spirit are forever to be minor existences in the Martial World. This stage is separated into Soul Seperation, Spirit Forging, and Soul Melding phases.
Those of the Soul Fusion stage can live up to five hundred years.
There are stages after this, but they are far beyond what you'll be able to achieve in the near future so disregarded atm.
This Technique was left behind by an expert who the text you discovered only ever called the Bronze God, and on his journey along the Martial Way he created this technique in a wish to make his body capable to resist even the lightning of heaven. By cultivating this Technique one's skin, flesh, bones, and even organs are refined and toughened to the point that even treasured blades might not be capable of piercing through.
This technique has several stages each of which is harder, and yet far superior to the last.
Stone Skin Layer - To cultivate this technique is a long, arduous, and excruciating thing as the user must first suffer through the process of being beaten while focusing their full might on the Bronze God Mantra. If one can withstand this and train it to the peak then their body will be as hard as stone, and far more resilient.
Mortal Bronze Layer - To cultivate this layer one must of reached Spirit Formation, and thus they use the Qi they've accumulated according to the technique's method allowing it to rampage through the meridians without truly damaging them. This process brings severe pain, but refines the meridians to a degree allowing more violent use of Qi. If one can withstand up to this point then their body will be like bronze, unyielding to swords and arrows while their strength will be nearly twice what it was before.
Divine God Bronze Layer - This is the hardest, and most dangerous layer of the technique to cultivate as it requires one to allow lightning from the heaven's to strike them, using this lightning to refine their body to the extreme. This process will bring extreme pain and suffering, and requires some deal of luck to encounter the amount of lightning required to fully complete refinement. Barely entering this layer will almost double the effects of the previous stage, but if one was to train to the peak the expert who made this believes that even rare treasured weapons might not be able to harm the body. Not only that, but they could easily shatter mountains with a single strike.
