"If the gem says it's not possible, then it probably isn't. Also, we probaby don't have to deactivate them to collect, considering their want and need to follow orders. Kill the target and any guards, and the pearls will just do what we ask."
+1 to collect, but suggest we don't have to poof them.

- You can totally capture them in whatever form you please, sure, why not. It's just that some might nag all along the way. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to practice my impression a little more before we arrive, it's sort of crucial to what we're doing.

Do practice morphing some more. Be sure my true gem is hidden under hair, while the fake black pearl gem is right in the middle of the forehead.

Centralia
Your ship sets its sight upon Centralia, home of the most potent coal in the Galaxy. The Meritocraticon yells out "Land Ho! Thar se be, the sandiest land in the Dark sea! So, I ask ya, are prepared for a fortune? Get up everyone! Land ahead, bright eyes and bushy tails everyone!"

You dock at the port, in the lonely town of Scattlrcrawl. "The mine's a ways away, but hey, it's the journey that matters, not the destination, right?'

(New roll system. You all gain 10 six sided die, and 5 free picks among them. you can combine two to get a better result, but you lose 2 die spots. I'll figure out the system more later on.)

Dismantle computer for parts. Use parts and miscellanous other items to assemble small remote activated electrical discharge pack(s). Investigate sand for small creatures willing to give their lives to idly performed science.

"How are we for weapons? Reckon there's anything interesting here except for the mine?"

In that case, this. I must say that as far as I can see the system requires either metagaming or abstracting the our character's (and thus, generally, our) drive to succeed at our objectives. But its definitely worth trying it for a bit.

Get into that sand. Submerge myself in sand.

Hah, you decided to steal that dice system too.

"Sand...?"
Emily is reminded of a show she used to watch when she was eight.
"Sand!"

Enter sand. Have lower half drill into sand to make a tunnel. Race Krak.

(Yep, it's engenious, and it will be my go to system for a long time. I asked permission, at least. Where's your game, anyway)

- You tell me when to change, because mind you, the longer I do it, the more difficult it becomes. I'd rather travel like me until it'd necessary to be a pearl.

Disembark. Get going towards mission objective. Hide gem under my longcoat.
